Morphinity 2.0 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Best team in the league just got better.
Shane Falco Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Best team in the league just got better. They're not satisfied with scoring 4-5 goals a game. Need moarr
fletch Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Holy sh*t, not good news for the Eastern Conference
Phil Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 The Caps, first-overall in the NHL for a second consecutive season as they seek the first Stanley Cup in franchise history, emerged as winners from what The Post had reported as St. Louis general manager Doug Armstrong’s attempt to create a bidding war between the Blueshirts, Pittsburgh and Washington to rent the difference-making 28-year-old righty defenseman. While Shattenkirk was the perfect guy to fill the Rangers’ need for a first-pair partner for Ryan McDonagh and for a power-play weapon from the point, general manager Jeff Gorton was steadfast in his refusal to surrender a young top-nine forward (Pavel Buchnevich qualifies under that umbrella) or Brady Skjei in order to acquire the pending free agent. http://nypost.com/2017/02/27/blues-trying-to-rope-rangers-into-a-kevin-shattenkirk-bidding-war/ Gorton, my man!
Vodka Drunkenski Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Didn't even know the caps were involved wow #MakeBSBHGreatAgain
Valriera Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 This is a good signal from Gorton. We need to take this approach to trades in the future if we want to build sustained success. also, really, it has to be the Caps' year at some point here. They've been too good for too long not to win, so I'll be rooting for them second to finally do it, because I have huge respect for Ovi. That is, if the Rangers don't beat them :P

paddynyc Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I'm happy the Rangers didn't make a trade, but the Caps have to be the odds on favourite for the Cup now.
BlairBettsBlocksEverything Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 guys he's clearly an undercover rangers agent. He's gonna throw the series if we play them, then sign for us. #TrueBlue4Life
BlairBettsBlocksEverything Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 WSH is still going to choke after round 2. They've upgraded by bringing in players from a team that also consistently chokes in the playoffs (Oshie, Shattenkirk)
phillyb Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 They've upgraded by bringing in players from a team that also consistently chokes in the playoffs (Oshie, Shattenkirk) Lol! Yeah, Caps still don't scare me. And great news on Gorts not pulling the trigger and keeping our young assets.
Ranger Lothbrok Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 In a way, it's kind of a good thing that the first game he'll play as a Capital is at MSG. It'll remind him what he REALLY wants out of his career, before the luster of being on the league's best team sets in and he signs an extension with them.
Myusername Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Haha, I can see it. If Caps don't win this season though it's only going to get tougher for them. Seems like we say it every year, but this is really their year.
fletch Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 If Shattenkirk makes the ECF, SCF, or wins a Cup, is he still likely to sign with the Rangers? Still another reason to root against the Caps.
