LindG1000
Figured I'd start a man-thread. Anyway, I'm making a bit of extra scratch and I'm thinking about flipping that cash into a shaving change. I'm sick of buying cartridges, as they just don't do a great job on my face at all. I'm thinking about making the switch to a double-edged razor and shave set, starting with this - http://www.amazon.com/Van-Hagen-Mens-Luxury-Shave/dp/B004L4EING and this razor - http://www.amazon.com/Parker-22R-Handle-Butterfly-Double/dp/B0017QSZY4/ref=pd_sim_hpc_8 Wondering if you all have any experience making the switch from cartridges to Double Edged blades and any advice therein. NYRangers92
Do you know if theres an Art of Shaving store somewhere around you? I would check in there first and see what they have before you buy this. I've personally never walked in but I've heard theyre great. Personally, I stopped shaving with a razor because I hate the way I look clean-shaven (when I work I will do what I have to, though). So I just use some Wahl electric razor designed for stubble. I actually dont like it at all. The stubble guard is small enough so it doesnt really do much at all, so I just use it without the attachments. But, mother paid for it so I'll suck it up and use it until it dies I guess (which should be soon, damn thing cant keep a charge for more than 2 shaves), and then I'll get one thats a bit more legitimate. TL;DR: I dont like cartridge razors, I like electric more. Oh yeah, another part of my disike for cartridge razors is because my beard grows really fast and I'm too damn lazy to shave the 2 times a week that would be necessary if I had to. The markup at Art of Shaving is completely ludicrous, though.
NYRangers92
right, thats what I've heard. But they could still have good products that you can look at there and find for cheaper elsewhere (like Amazon)
Dave
I was putting holes in concrete yesterday with a hammer drill. That count as manly?

Marc
a couple of my friends are doing the dollarshaveclub thing. It seems to make sense, I have a pretty decent beard and personally I buy Rite Aid Brand triple blade disposables. They do the job and the price is right. Respecttheblue
Bollocks to that. To some Axe is a deodorant. I say if you keep your axe sharp enough you could shave with that too. Don't even bother with the gym no more; get a workout the ole 'fashioned way. A nice 16 x 17 round like the one underneath weighs around 100# No need to go to unameit sporting goods store for weights. OK, time to go mountain biking while the trails are still frozen solid. Have fun with your male grooming products fellas. ;) Ta ta fer noo! http://www.h2omen.com/wood-saw-heat/TheLimbSplit.jpg http://www.h2omen.com/wood-saw-heat/PileandAxe.jpg

LindG1000
My god, just looking at that axe makes my chest hair grow. If looking at axes made chest hair grow I've got a potentially serious exponential growth problem brewing.
Phil
Now I want to spend the day splitting wood. Probably would if it didn't mean having to drive an hour east to my parents place.

Fuhgeddaboudit
I want to go to Costco and get a shitload or razors. They are pretty expensive
LindG1000
I want to go to Costco and get a shitload or razors. They are pretty expensive One of the reasons I want to switch to a double-edged razor is that the blades are equally as versatile and cost fractions. momentum
For some of you guys chopping wood is manly, but what separate real men from girly men is felling trees with axe. So much more fun than going to the gym :) Oh and btw, use a real axe: Gransfors Bruks axes: http://www.gransfors.com/htm_eng/index.html In the picture is actually their splitting maul, but it was so damn sharp that figure i try to fell some trees with it as well, like cutting butter with a hot knife. http://i1321.photobucket.com/albums/u546/momentum1124/135_zps284b547d.jpg
Jules
Cutting the tree down, chopping the blocks, loading them in the truck bed and stacking them in the barn. One hell of a work out, that's for sure.
