  1. Eh, I don't really agree with that. But again, simply ignoring the threads in the political section solves this.
  2. From that perspective sure, and I can actually see the why in keeping Fast. But you're sending very different messages about win now vs. rebuild. Fast, as a locker room guy is good to have, but I think that matters a lot more for guys who have been there than it does as a role model. There are lots of vets out there who can show youngersters the way. You keep Fast because you think he helps you win, the room is too new to keep him for continuity.
  3. Agreed. It was also right in line with the whole content creation thing, re: blogs.
  4. B/c it's the exact opposite of everything they've done over the last ~2.5 years. Their entire approach since the letter has been "acquiring assets" and, as far as I know, they're still in the rebuild. I've said that I hate the timing and overall messaging since pretty much day 1, because it makes expectations unclear, but imagine coming to the deadline and you trade Kreider but extend Fast? That's about as mixed of a message as you can have. Over the course of a year, they could go Deadline - Trade Zucc, Hayes Offseason - Acquire Trouba, Panarin Season - Trade Namest, Send down Chytil/Krav Deadline - Trade Kreider, Extend Fast (since they won't let him walk free) That's wildly inconsistent messaging, without even adding in the lineup issues.
  5. Like everyone else, I have no idea what they're waiting for.
  6. I mean, you don't get to tell me anything. You also don't get to ask a mod to ignore your posts and in the same breath complain that mods don't do enough.
  7. No we're not discussing ideas, you're whining about problem that you, specifically, are a primary contributor to.
  8. If it is such a problem, stop reading and posting in it. It is incredibly ironic for two of the most prevalent posters in that thread to say that it shouldn't exist.
  9. Regardless of whether or not the political threads exist, you don't have to post in them. You don't have to click on them, read, them or ever respond. If they're such a problem, don't post in them every day. Don't blame mods b/c you don't like to follow rules.
  10. Ryan Hartman. Andrew Shaw just went for a 2nd and 3rd. Marcus Johansen a 2nd and a 4th.
  11. I think he's been pretty solid after the first game and a half or so. He gets beaten to pucks too often I think, but should get better there eventually.
  12. 1. Mika Zibanejad 2. Artemi Panarin 3. Henrik Lundqvist 4. Jacob Trouba -1 5. Adam Fox 6. Pavel Buchnevich 7. Alexander Georgiev 8. Kappo Kakko 9. Chris Kreider 10. Tony DeAngelo 11. Brady Skjei -1 11. Tony DeAngelo 12. Marc Staal 13. Jesper Fast 14. Ryan Strome 15. Brett Howden 16. Brendan Lemieux 17. Lias Andersson 18. Brendan Smith 19. Libor Hajek 20. Micheal Haley 21. Greg McKegg
  13. Honestly I don't think it matters who Kakko is playing with, because he hasn't at all embraced the physicality or competitiveness of the NHL. He's good on the PP b/c there's so much time and space, but he doesn't understand that you have to battle for pucks everywhere. If he played with the same approach as Lemieux, he'd be carrying his own line. This goes back to my point about his expectations - I don't think anyone (until probably Quinn) has made it clear to him about how different the NHL is from fucking Liga. Until he learns what that means, it doesn't matter where he is in the lineup.
  14. Yea, I saw it too. And he was good in possession there. But I don't think he's got a spot on the left side, long term.
  15. He was playing in the spot that Panarin plays on PP1. Really, he was only on that side b/c he and ADA were flipped, for whatever reason. Kakko isn't a good enough shooter, I don't think, to score from outside of 10-15 feet without being on a one-timer
  16. Fine with that contract, in general, but I wouldn't move him before the deadline. You could get a first-round pick or, say, the Grabner return for him. Not sure I'm turning that down.
  17. Lol, well I'm sure one of those ladies gave you a little dose of reality.
  18. "My goal is to play a leading role for the team. I don't want to hear people tell me, that I'm a young guy who should take his time to get used to the style of play. I want to be the one to score and solve games right away." Idk who was gassing him up to make him think this way, but he doesn't seem to have much perspective about how far ahead of other leagues the NHL is. I like the attitude, but he probably needs some perspective.
  19. Well yea - nobody would predict Dom Moore scoring the Game 7 winner against MTL. But a guy like Fast gives you a better chance to do that, than, say Tyler Ennis, I would think. And if you add in the intangible part, it becomes a lot harder to find a 1-1 replacement.
  20. Fast is harder to find a replacement for than Boyle, by a lot. I agree that he's not necessarily the difference on a cup winner, but he's a much more unique player than a lot of the veteran bottom 6 plugs around the league.
  21. I know. I'm just guessing that Fast isn't that type. I wouldn't bet on it happening.
  22. I think Fast - more than Hayes, Zucc, Nash - is the perfect candidate for a deadline trade and then re-sign as a FA. Who knows what his motivations are, but I'd imagine the market for him is fairly limited, in terms of price, so there shouldn't be a huge bidding war.
