  1. Personally I find the slow burn episodes like last Sunday's much more enjoyable than the ones where there's too much to digest going on. The beauty of this story is in it's telling, not the very specific, very large action scenes or major twists/turns IMO. I love the nuances between characters. Call me crazy, but I'll take a conniving scene with Tyrion completely controlling someone (like Lancel) over the overt action.

I like the combination, which is why I like the show. The story telling, acting, grit and action all coming together. Take away any one of those things and it's less epic. As I said, I don't dislike the occassional episode that needs to be missing story or action in order to further the plot. Not every episode can have that perfect balance because the story is too involved for that.

Oh, and Tyrion is the shit.

  2. Yeah, slow episode. Still good, only minor changes and I overall liked it.

Though I kinda wonder what happened to the northern guardsmen Lady Catelyn had, when she arrived at Renlys camp. It's not like she would have traveled alone. lol

Don't know for sure, but it seemed like an in the moment clusterfuck where they just had to slip out the back door. No time to go wandering around looking for people to go with you.

As far as set up episodes go, it was decent. When you're doing a long translation of a story like this, there are going to be segments where you need to advance a lot of story with not much action.

  3. Yea thats the thing, as a family we probably couldn't get one, because my parents are looking to move down to florida. If I stay here, i'd still consider getting one. I've heard they dont live very long either.

This isn't true. For their size, they actually have a slightly longer than average expectancy of 12-15 years. Compare that to labs which is 10-12. Huskies are very healthy and have no inclinations towards any injuries or diseases.

They are also a shit ton of work. Mine just turned 5 and I'd say is still 20% puppy. Each year that's gone down (ie, last year she was 30% puppy). And if you don't plan on getting them a ton of excersise, don't get one.

  4. I get that it's following the book, but the last episode of the season was weak. Having the final episode of the season be all small cliff hanger stuff for the next season doesn't work for me. It seems a cheap way to get people to come back. Well, except I guess for the final scene with the dragons, that was decent.

The 2nd to last episode would have been how you ended a season in a cliff hanger, though. Ned being beheaded was a complete game changer (pun intended). It would have put a punctuation mark on the season and set up everything for the next season. Instead, we got to start to see the game change, with the one son becoming king of the north, the bastard son staying with the Night's Watch, the oldest daughter starting to plot killing the boy king, while the head of that family starts to try to control the situation, the youngest daughter connecting with the blacksmith's apprentice who I'm assuming is Robert's son and maybe his true Heir, etc.
