Lol. Thank you! My third in the back. I'll live to fight till the next one. A team of wild horses couldn't keep me from this! Hope yours is doing well n yr keeping those core muscles strong!!
Trying, but most of the time I'd rather sit on my ass and watch television. I've always been slender anyway.

Igor rebounded nicely after that stinker. Too bad it happened because they deserve to be up by more than one after their play in that period. Keep going like this, and they'll take it.

Not quite there yet for me, probably because I don't really count the play-in series in the Bubble and last time we played them it was a nice upset win for us.
Yeah, that was just a weird time. Outside of that, we've had their number for quite awhile.

Damn. I had minor back surgery a few years ago and that freaked me out. I get nervous when we're talking spines. At least you're cohent despite being medicated. Fewer typos than @Keirikeven! Get well soon.

Just let this series be the last time we play the Caps in the Playoffs for at least 2 decades.
Then we'll be playing Carolina next. I feel the same way about them.

Lou has stood pat more than he should have. More recently, I think he's made a couple of good moves in the Horvat and Romanov trades. Looking at their roster, the problem is that moving on from the older players doesn't do much good if you don't have good younger ones in the pipeline, and Brock Nelson is probably the only one of their older players who would bring a good young player in a trade.
Not too many good moves lately for Lou, though, has really hamstrung the Islanders for the foreseeable future, I think. Those trades you mentioned were the only real good ones. I know a lot of Islanders fans haven't been happy with the job he's been doing overall the last three years or so. Getting Horvat was good, but he was traded from the Canucks just before they started becoming really good, and traded to the Islanders just when they were starting to slide down. lol

The Rangers last year finished their last 21 games 12-9. This years Rangers team last 21 games went 15-6. Several different players, different head coach, different assistant coaches and we have a 21 year old NEW NHL enforcer who is getting better and makes his teammates feel more comfortable out there knowing if the shit gets nasty Lavy will send him out to fuck somebody up.
ohh and I forgot I have not seen one fucking team move Rempe out of gen he’s in front of the net.. NOT ONE!!
Okay LGR!!!!!Yeah, I mentioned after that that this is a completely different team with a better mentality and coaching. I don't anticipate it happening again. lol

I saw a stat and can’t remember where but this post season has most hits/game than any post season since they started keeping stats on hitting.
Yep. I think it was game two of the Toronto/Boston series that set a postseason hits record (combined) for a sixty minute game.

I hate playing games in Washington. The fans, the horns and all of the noises are really annoying.

NHL playoffs are more physical than the regular season regardless of familiarity and rivalries. There's been a ton of hitting across the board in the postseason thus far.

This Caps team is nowhere close to those Tampa and Devils teams. And we got the experience now.
If they blow this series lead I expect everyone on this roster to be traded or bought during the summer. And I mean EVERYONE.
Oh, I know, just pointing that out. lol I really can't see that happening to this squad against this team, either.

This Caps team can ill-afford to get chippy. God forbid they take a double minor or a (gasp!) a major....they're fucking done! The Rangers will plant 3 goals in 5 minutes on their asses and it's over Johnny!
The Caps will just be asking for trouble playing like dicks. And we'd be stupid to partake in that shit! They fucking stink! They're not even worth fighting...
The Rangers aren't gonna take any shit either. This team isn't scared of Tom Wilson anymore, or Dylan McIlrath who still can't skate!!! We have bigger, tougher players. This is not your father's Rangers anymore, kids! This team is built Ford fucking tough!
We roll tonight big!! 5-2...Bread pots a pair!
You could be right, but I would still err on the side of caution, and just beware. They might think they're toast already and not really give a shit and just want to hurt somebody.

Hello, again, dreaded 2-0 series lead.
They have lost the last two series in which they've led 2-0. Still a long way from being over. lol
-
They look even better than they did last season. This might be their year. If they represent the East in the Final, I don't see any team in West beating them.
-
Yeah, Lou really has not a very good job the last couple of years or so, and it's rearing its ugly head. Face it, this Islanders team really isn't a playoff team. Their place in the standings is because they lost a ton of overtime games. Now they're even older and a below average team, with not a ton of hope in sight. Sure, credit them for getting to that point a lot, but still, technically they lost well over 40 games and you should not be a playoff team in that case. The Islanders window was rather smaller, compared to the Rangers. Unfortunately they ran into Tampa Bay during their run. Those things happen. Winning can be about timing as well.

IMO it would be a crime if he isn't a finalist for the Selke Trophy.
Definitely. His defensive play may not be appreciated by the casual fan, or someone who doesn't watch a lot of Rangers games. But the PK is as good as it is mainly because of him.
-
It would be something if he's in the lineup for the next series. They should have been able to beat Washington without him. No chance rushing him, give him some more time. Assuming they get by the Capitals, yeah, put him in there for Carolina. What a story that would be.
-
I'm sure they aren't happy about that Panarin hit, even though I didn't think it was that bad. I'm expecting them to be out for blood tonight, plus it's basically a must win game for them. Beware shenanigans.

I agree with this. As if the 120 points and 49 goals wasn't statement enough, he took last playoffs really hard and placed a lot of the blame on himself.
Honestly, assuming we make it past them, I'm almost happy this was the first round matchup. If Panarin's blood is boiling, then he's not in his own head. The chippiness seems to only have engaged him more.
Great to see that kind of accountability from your best players. Not that I never thought he didn't care, but it was good to see him taking last season so hard.
-
They're still a really good team. Peaked too early, maybe? I guess we'll find out.

Not enough mustard on that one from Igor. It looked like it was going way wide if it even got down there.
