Aho tried to injure Fox on the play and succeeded. Not sure if the Igor injury was intentional but it was a reckless play with the skater using his leg to stretch Igor out good.
I don't think ignoring the incidents makes the 'Canes less likely to do what they did again.
There is zero indication that Aho tried to injure Fox intentionally. He got beat and stuck his leg out.

To be honest I’m hoping that we don’t need to whine about the refereeing again which has been atrocious this series so far, for both teams
It's something we shouldn't be whining about anyway. It's going both ways. There are bad calls on both sides. The players are playing through it. The fans should too.

I mean yes but the kid line was also good
Were they? Or did they really just have a couple of stretches of good games at a lot of shit in between?

Players are saying the team feels more organized this year.
But yeah, GG was fine. Not a problem at all.

Trocheck, who signed with the Rangers going into the 2022-23 season, liked Lafrenière as soon as he got to New York. He said his teammate has layers to his game; he’s offensively skilled but also willing to forecheck and play with physicality, as he showed when he separated Vincent Iorio from a puck with a big hit in Game 1 against Washington, leading to a Rangers goal. Trocheck pushed to skate on a line with the skilled younger player last season, but then-coach Gerard Gallant normally put Lafrenière with Kaapo Kakko and Filip Chytil.

Gallant, the fucking mastermind at it again!

Nice article from Larry praising Mika. This stat is pretty amazing:
"During the regular season, the Zibanejad-Kreider PK unit was on for 118:31 in which the Rangers scored six shorthanded goals while allowing eight power-play goals against. Astonishing."https://nypost.com/2024/04/24/sports/rangers-getting-very-best-of-mika-zibanejad-in-playoffs/
Mika is one of the most well-rounded and top centers in the league. Only here is he referred to as "a third liner".

True, although Vegas took it to us pretty good in both matchups, is all. I think they were playing pretty well when they played them the first time, but I don't remember. Second time was definitely when they were struggling. Still would probably be a better matchup right now than Dallas, though. Vegas still finds a way to be a pain in the ass, though. lol
The first game the Rangers still had Bonino, Wheeler, and Pitlick in the lineup. Brodzinski, too. The second game was the first home game after the west coast trip.
I'm not saying Vegas isn't concerning, I'm saying it's not apples to apples.

Vegas completely schooled us in both meetings this year. I think you're absolutely right.
This team didn't play Vegas this season.

That was my guess once the videos of him came out that he was skating and doing non-contact shit gingerly on the ice. Didn’t look like he had a noticeable physical issue. So this would add up.
It's crazy that they let him play and gave me 82, and that's probably why he looked like scattered ass.

Once Chytil gets into a couple games, everyone will shut up.
Hopefully.
I get the frustration, especially that it happens every year, but it's done and over with at this point.
People also seem to forget that Vegas was a bubble team and they traded for a player who was hurt. There was no guarantee they would even make the playoffs when they made those moves. It's not like this was the first place team loading up.

Dallas needs to win this series just for the fact that I don't want to hear circumvention complaining for the next month and a half.

Oettinger had another average night. He simply has to be better and steal one for Dallas to get back into this series.
He's been pretty average most of the year.

Pre-game. sorry if it was posted already
Across the entire NHL I've never seen a group of 30-year-olds so triggered by a 22-year-old.

Remains to be seen, he didn't have an NHL roster.

It doesn't really bother me either, but it's definitely clear he doesn't use his full skill set. I just think sometimes some may take that net presence for granted, especially when I remember they went years without someone like that. That's basically it, I guess.
I hear you. And I'll probably miss him when he's gone too.
Put it this way, as far as the art of the tip in, it's Kreider and Pavelski and then a big gap between whoever is next, and while there's no surprise those two teams were the best in the NHL, there's a slew of other teams who don't have guys like that and still managed to win a ton of hockey games.
I think the game has evolved to a point where you just have to do more than stand there when you don't have the puck.

What? How was I absolving Gallant? I said 'one of' the worst in regards to Quinn. Guess who else I would put on that list?
I felt like you were one of the folks who would defend GG. My bad if I got that wrong.

There's no way it has anything to do with the record. Probably bad exit interviews or they just observed that he's not a very good head coach. Me, personally, one of the worst I've seen. I think Gorton and JD partly lost their jobs because of this hire.
It's mind-boggling to me how you can say he's one of the worst coaches you've ever seen and yet somehow try to absolve Gallant, who not only didn't change hardly anything from Quinn's lineup, and actually coached less.

Not sure if it was mentioned here, but did anyone catch the hot mic convo between Rempe and either McIlrath or Wilson after the Panarin hit?
Rempe was listing what he was going to do, and to whom he was going to do it to, should anybody touch Panarin. It was hilarious. Very audible on Canadian feed, anyways.
I found a couple of clips of Wilson yelling at Rempe on the bench, but no hot mic, you can't even hear what they're saying.
Actually, I found it. Don't watch the clip, just listen to the audio.
Honestly, saying you're going after McMichael is a big who gives a fuck. Not much of a chirp. Go after Ovechkin or Carlson.

Kreider has his faults for sure, but he'll probably go down as one of the most underappreciated/underrated Rangers ever.
I don't think that's true. I think he's appropriately appreciated and rated.
He will be remembered as a player that always left you wanting more, he leaves too much on the table.
Even the responses from the stans to those who are critical never really directly rebut the criticism.
He doesn't use his speed or size, yeah but he scores goals.
He handles the puck like a hand grenade, yeah but he's statistically good at 5v5.
None of those actually answer the criticisms, at least @Phil is honest and says he just doesn't care about the shortcomings.
Nobody's knocking the guy as a goal scorer. But a lot of people can see he's capable of much more.
So yeah, when I see that he has the most playoff goals for a Ranger, the first thing that comes to mind is that he could easily have many more if he utilized his skill set to its fullest potential.

I’m guessing there’s more to this than on ice performance because there’s no way you look at this roster and say it could have done better.Maybe there was some player feedback. But it's definitely a case where Scotty Bowman behind the bench wouldn't have made a difference.

Admittedly I didn't watch the entire game, was flipping between the Vancouver game so only saw half. But to me his performance was akin to a guy in your team finally meeting his job expectations and helping you get a deliverable out to a client on time/budget. Is that really stepping up? Sure, I guess if its stepping up from underperforming to baseline expectations. Lets just say, Vally probably wouldn't call that a 'stolen game' as he likes to put it.
I get that, but I also don't equate sports to real life. That guy clearly struggles with confidence, and after a shaky start to the game he really clamped down. It could have gone either way.
