i gotta say an impressive 3/4 and probably could have been 4/4 if they didnt shit the bed in fla in the 3rd. one thing that stood out to me was regarding fox on the PP. i'm not the greatest hockey strategist out there but it seems to me letting fox roam the blueline without any pressure is not the right way for teams to play him. go back and look at the recap and sometimes there was noone within 12 feet of him. really nice to see ALF gaining some confidence. he looked like he was having fun out there.

second part of the schedule looks pretty tough imo. will need to see more from them to stay in the hunt. good time to get a rest in. hopefully Igor is healthy to go when we come off the break.

i liked AV during his time here. not sure i'd drop the C word on him but yes i concur that he really was the beneficiary of good goaltending. his system was 1 way which i agree to as well and when he matched wits against a better bench boss he could not adjust on the fly, especially against suter in the cup final who he had no answer for. that being said philly is really a dumpster fire and no way the blame falls on AV completely. some good reads in the Philly papers talking about bad drafting since as far back as 2002 and no continuity behind the bench (believe they've had 7 coaching changes.) the GM presser last week was a complete shit show and that guy should have been shown the door as well. they need a complete overhaul there top to bottom. hope there too stupid to see it nor have the patience to accomplish it. might be the worst fans on the planet and i include philly, eagle and sixer as well.

someone on the network said going from hank to igor was like the pack going from farve to rodgers.

they all don't have to look pretty but good to bank another 2 points versus a team that really has no mojo at the moment. they have no confidence getting the pucks out of the zone and there gaps look terrible. they are bottom in the league in giving up shots and prime scoring chances. ton of injuries as well and a gm that really has no clue in what he said in that presser the other day. was good to see how we came out after the layoff. you so worry about the rust there and the taking for granted a struggling team. this hunt kid continues to impress. good to see kakko playing with confidence and like watching the kid line grow together. some more winable games coming up as well. the IGOR chants are becoming epic.
