  8. He's third in ES shots on the team with 6 and has 7 total shots across all strengths. He's averaging 2 shots per game which is the highest rate of his career. That's not even accounting for attempts. Maybe actually wait for more than 3 games?
  9. Pack win their opener in the shootout. Othmann had both of the team’s goals on the PP. Othmann had a number of chances throughout and was quite good. The Pack overall got better as the game went on. Lines were Belzile-Brodzinski-Edstrom Berard-Nash-Othmann Elson-Leschysyn-Trivigno Sykora-Henriksson-Rempe Robertson-Scanlin Mackey-Hollowell Brouillard-Harpur
  10. 6-3 Sabres Rangers are gonna need a few games to settle down and the Sabres are all energy.

  12. The quality of them dipped as the years went on. Hopefully, these aren't as generic as they became.
  13. Chytil missing most of camp has been detrimental to figuring out whether that duo could work together. They really need them to click.
  14. I have zero expectations beyond that Laf will ultimately fuck up a play. They effectively let him run the top PP unit last night and he did fuck all with it. He's finally getting the time, space, and opportunity that some clamored for and he has no clue what to do with it. I don't see any creativity from him at all, everything is forced or too slow. Karl Henriksson looked more dynamic and engaged than Laf. Everyone is outworking him and I'm not sure he notices.
  15. I don't think Rempe will be a full-time player if he ever hits the NHL. He definitely won't be centering a line with the intent to score, he's a fourth-liner.
  16. https://www.lohud.com/story/sports/nhl/rangers/2023/09/25/motivated-artemi-panarin-still-stinging-from-playoff-disappointment/70955162007/
  17. Certain actions need to be taken in a certain time. I don’t know what else is time specific. You don’t need to go as slow as I did at all. But I’d say don’t let 7 days pass for certain objectives.
  18. Probably not but Gilmour and Pionk jumped him on the depth chart. And again, he didn’t really find his game until he was in the Colorado organization.
  19. The point still applies. Motte was never going to be an option as the 13th. This is a guy who thinks he’s a third liner.
  20. Belzile and Nash are more likely for Hartford than the NHL roster. The difference between them and Motte is that they’ll accept that assignment. Motte didn’t come down to earth with his price in time for him to be an option for the Rangers. The Rangers signed all of their free agents in the first few days.
  21. I think Graves was further ahead at this same juncture. Graves was an AHL all star by this point whereas Robertson lost a lot of last season. I think there was a similar struggle in finding his identity as a strong skating, bigger defenseman that isn’t physical. Robertson isn’t as refined defensively as Graves was. The Rangers defensive pipeline wasn’t particularly deep when Graves was dealt, but he was pretty much in direct competition with Brady Skjei for an actual roster spot. He wasn’t beating out Skjei. Graves took a step back, was still hungry for a roster spot and they swapped him for Bigras who profiled similarly and had more of a reputation. Graves’ time in Colorado’s system is ultimately what unlocked the next stage of his development and made him the player that he is. Robertson needs a steady and healthy year. He’s at least been patient. Jones moving up/on is going to free up the 1D spot in Hartford. It’s Robertson’s if he can take it.
  22. Steady isn’t the word I’d use. He’s been inconsistent and never really the standout on his pair in Hartford. He’s kind of like Libor Hajek, though, in that his skating and size give you a hope that he might figure it out somehow. Hajek never did, but maybe Robertson will. His really needs to stick to the defensive side of the game and keep his play as simple as possible. The goal would be a poor man’s Ryan Graves. John Moore?
