  1. She left Ottawa with him to begin with, so I’m guessing she’s ok. My point is that it’s his career. He should go where he feels is the best fit. If it’s because his wife is homesick, then there’s a good chance it’s not for the right reasons Forget about how that affects his career. That type of shit ruins marriages. People resent each other for stuff like that
  2. I can see how you might feel I meant that I didn’t But do you honestly care what I think about Karlsson’s wife? Only saying that she seems to have an awful lot of influence over his decisions I’m old school on that I’ll admit. Especially when he earns probably all of the money. In that situation, I think she should defer to him. Just my opinion.
  3. Yeah I get all that. But she’s married to a millionaire She go to Ottawa whenever she wants. I’ve been through miscarriage myself People get over them. It totally sucks. But life goes on and you have to move forward. It’s unreasonable to make a decision that effects the next 8 years of your life based on an incident that many people deal with and move past in a relatively short period of time Not trying to be insensitive or anything. Just realistic Not to mention that Ottawa didn’t treat them well last time and that franchise will be a mess as long as Melnyk owns it
  4. Not if that garbage has NMC and you have to protect them Not saying they shouldn’t be thinking about it and employ strategic thinking but there are other priorities requiring greater attention right now
  5. I?m also adamantly opposed to giving up number 20 or Andersson. They need all the 1st round draft capital they can get in a rebuild and while the early returns on Andersson have been a disappointment, and he was probably a bit of a reach at #7, he still had a grade in approximately the 10-12 range, and he?s played 49 NHL games. Let him play and develop and see where he?s at sometime in 2021

  7. I agree Though I think Karlsson stays in San Jose and takes the massive deal he has on the table from them, if that is in fact the case. He’d be foolish to turn down all that money from them. No one else comes close to that amount for him. And his homesick wife can go fuck herself. Who wouldn’t want to live out there? One of the best places in the world to live if you’re young, rich and famous. And she’s pining for Ottawa? The more you hear about her and her behavior, the more I think that shit with her and Hoffman’s wife was bullshit or Karlsson’s wife was the main party responsible for that whole mess
  8. Vesey gets way more ire than he deserves He’s about what he was projected to be. Middle 6 guy. Decent offensive skill, could be better defensively. But he’s by no means this massive disappointment that was sold as something better than he is.
  9. They should probably just pass on this deal I don’t think they get their money’s worth and I don’t feel like Trouba is a true #1 D Maybe he’s a top pairing guy, but as the 2nd guy in the pairing, and at present they don’t have that guy. To be clear, 7 years and about $7.5 per isn’t actually to tier money. It’s the tier below But still. Better to keep the assets and spend that money on their own guys down the line
  10. I think, long-term, the greater value is in keeping those 3 assets around as opposed to Trouba. Like Trouba a lot. But I don’t know that he’s a franchise type D, and that’s a stiff price.
  11. 2 full years from now. The garbage will be off the books by then, provided they don’t add more. Worrying about this can wait
  12. He?s a solid hire. Forget about his play which while did bring some quality elements at times, often left a lot to be desired. He always worked hard. Very well liked by his teammates. Respected in the locker room and around the league. And by all accounts a very intelligent guy. Dartmouth grad and I believe he was their captain too.
  13. Game 5 in Buffalo They should have won that game
  14. Should’ve beaten that Buffalo team. But that year Drury was actually on Buffalo still They needed a defenseman that year
  15. Early returns on him have been poor, but patience is what he needs. See where he’s at after another 100-150 games.
  16. Totally fine with another full season of him. Not entirely out of the question that he bounces back, though I’m not banking on that.
  17. Do we even know if they really want to extend him and meet his price, which is likely 6 seasons and north of $6.5 million per, starting in 20-21? Is is smart to give Kreider in the $40 million neighborhood (or perhaps more) and do so for 6 seasons running through the 25-26 season at which time he will be 35? I think the organization is really on the fence. Not so much about the player but the commitment of term and dollars. I firmly believe that if they were all about it they’d have done so already.
  18. I still think he gets extended or moved this summer. It may wait till after the draft when extension talks can begin anew. But I don?t think they want to deal with all the chatter like they have the last 2 seasons as they have approached the deadline. Am I mistaken, or has it been out there in a couple of outlets that he?s not likely to be in camp without a new contract in place?
  19. I agree But no one is talking about Ottawa or Winnipeg I’m more desirable destinations than the frozen north.
  20. If it’s a team that is not on his no trade list you’d have to figure they’d at least have some possibility of extending him
