GDT [RS] (#72) Rangers vs. Philadelphia Flyers — Flyin High
RJWantsTheCup replied to High and Wide's topic in New York Rangers
Kjell Samuelson for trivia -
Other than Colorado the Rangers should win the rest of their remaining games. No reason not to get on a roll to close out the season. Philly, Colorado, Arizona, Pittsburgh, NJ, Detroit, Montreal, Isles, Philly, Isles and Ottawa.

They aren’t sitting any of the top players until the standings become clearer. Games are too important now to just rest someone for the sake of it. There’s definitely a big difference between playing the Flyers, Wings or Caps then playing the Lightning. Rangers final regular season game is 4/15 against Ottawa and the playoffs are starting 4/22. More than likely the top players aren’t playing the last game. Gives them a week to rest and get ready for playoffs.

Looks like the Caps are going to over take the Flyers. If so I much rather finish in first in the conference and play the Flyers than play either the Lightning or Caps. Resting players is great but having an easier first round opponent is more important in my opinion.

Gustafsson Day-to-day After Elbow to the Head
RJWantsTheCup replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
We will see the smallest defensive pairing in possibly league history now with Jones and Fox as the top pair. Interested to see how Jones handles it -
Unless they get a little distance between themselves and Carolina the sitting rotation is probably just Brodzinski, Rempe and Cuylle. I think Goodrow could be added to it at some point

If I can read stat muse correctly they are 9 for the last 28 power plays in the last 10 games. Thats 32%. Power play isn’t broken. -

Most of the teams in the league would rather see Lafraniere on the first power play unit over Kreider. Kreider is most useful on the power play. It’s where he thrives. Taking him off the first unit would be a huge mistake. I wouldn’t mess with the first power play unit but if I had to it would be Zibanejad that would move off the first unit. The second unit I would be interested in seeing Rempe parking in front of the goalie instead of having Kakko out there. -
I didn’t notice they didn’t have the cap hit at 87.5M. Just assumed they did. Makes sense now.

Was playing around on capfriendly today and I couldn’t come up with a way to sign Roslovic and Wennberg plus re-sign Kakko, Lindgren and Schneider even with removing Goodrow and Chytil’s cap hit without taking on cap in return for them.

GDT [RS #69] Rangers vs Winnipeg Jets — Nice Game
RJWantsTheCup replied to Drew a Penalty's topic in New York Rangers
Rempe will be back. Brodzinski can never seem to play well for more than 2 or 3 games in a row. -

Hellebuyck plays well against the Rangers. 2-0-1 in 3 games with a 1.63 goals against average and .958 save percentage since 22-23. -

Who's Trouba? Seriously though, they are going to need him and Lindgren come playoff time. -

The 2023-2024 Steven McDonald Extra Effort Award
RJWantsTheCup replied to RichieNextel305's topic in New York Rangers
Quick has had a great season but the award is for extra effort not for comeback player or most improved player. Vesey, Lindgren and even Cuylle I think give more of an extra effort. It's hard to measure effort level of a goalie though.
