  1. I mean, even if Lindgren's career only lasted 3 more seasons (which I don't know why you'd assume that), you know he's a 1st pair dman who's capable of handling top players. All we know about Chychrun is that he has bad numbers on a bad team. He could fall flat here AND he also plays a completely different role than Lindgren. It makes no sense to move one for the other.
  2. Hanks the best goalie to ever play for the Rangers. Like I said, on a game to game basis, I really like what I see from Shesty. He's rock solid and super calm in goal. But you can't discount track record. Track record is everything. It would be absurd to measure a guy who played one game and got a shut out against a 15 year pro who won a vezina and three cups. Know what I mean? The only thing Hank failed to do in his time as a Ranger was win a cup, so in Igor's case, he needs to break a few of Hanks records AND win a cup to be considered the best to ever wear the sweater.
  3. Was thinking about this the other night too, and on a night to night basis, Shesty doesn't have the soft goal syndrome that Hank seemed to have. BUT Hank's playoff career speaks for itself. The amount of Game 7 wins and shutouts Hank had was insane and Shesty hasn't yet sniffed the playoffs. Hank also never got hurt and Shesty is laying on the ice every three months so I think the question will be best answered when this team makes a few runs and we either do, or don't, win the cup. Because that's where Hank fell short. In order to be better than Hank, you need to win the cup, period.
  4. Who are you talking about then? Othmann? Cuylle? Again, our prospects are doing better than most.
  5. They're basically icing a preseason lineup tonight. RW has been a problem all season, it's especially dire now.
  6. Igor is a Vezina favorite and Fox won the Norris... Ours are doing better than most.
  7. The people who watch the AHL seem to think Barron is an NHL player so I'm happy to see him get a chance. Curious what he can do with a longer look, he seemed to be getting comfortable.
  8. Could it be a the "tough guy" gesture? Sure. But this is the 3rd time in a month it's happened. Someone literally just got suspended for it a week ago. It's obvious this gesture toward a black athlete is not tolerated. It's obvious black athletes take offense to it because it's been used toward them in derogatory terms. Just as it could be the "tough guy" gesture, it could also not be. So don't fucking do it.
  9. Everyone wants to rebuild until you find out prospects mostly suck.
  10. Right, except not even Tinordi sucked enough to accept a one year deal. He makes barely any money so ultimately it just doesn't matter at all. We have how many millions in cap space?
  11. I mean, that's just not how contracts work in the NHL. Hardly anyone signs for one year and if they do, they're likely guys who suck and got bought out.
  12. I'm just underwhelmed by this dude. I don't like the likely price tag of acquisition, and it's not an area of need. Banishing Kravstov to the desert is funny and spiteful, but I'd rather use him to land a forward - where we have gaping holes.
  13. Well... that's an odd choice. I'm sure Shesty is not happy. Start your Vezina goalie against the top team in the league. I mean, c'mon.
  14. I guess my point is, why are they trying to take on a reclamation project at the deadline? Why not just get a player you know is good? There are many out there.
  15. Huh? Prospal was a 50+ point player before the Rangers and stayed a 50+ point player. Pouliot was here one season and scored 36 points. Boyles was and is a 4th liner Grabner had a resurgence, I guess. None of these players did what Strome is doing.
  16. Well, the rest of the season is basically prep for the playoffs. Much like last game, this one already feels like it's a playoff matchup. Since the Tampa sweep, I think the Rangers have proven they belong with the big boys, but the second half of the season will determine if they are one of the biggest boys.
