  1. I'm starting to think Kakko is going to go first. Size and skill would make him my pick if the Rangers were going #1 and I were magically hired to be GM. Obviously, either he or Hughes would be a great get.
  2. This season fucking sucked. I can’t do another like this. I need some hope moving forward or else I’ll be as checked out at the start of next season as I was at the end of this one. I basically haven’t watched a full game since the deadline. Next year starts Tuesday. A lucky bounce would be nice.
  3. I don't know how the Rangers can make a deal with ANYONE that says "you have a guaranteed roster spot regardless of play" let alone a player that's never played an NHL game. That kid is 23. He's also not a full time starter in the KHL. What the hell has he proven? If I'm GM I sign him, have 3 goalies in camp, and let the chips fall where they may -- and probably do a three-way goalie rotation, using the entire season to both see what you have and to showcase. In a dream world, I'd look to put Hank on Robidas island if he's not willing to accept a trade. I think the Rangers could live and do well with a Russian goalie tandem. That, however, will never happen.
  4. Jonas "The Monster" Gustavsson was a sure thing too. Let the dude get here before we just anoint him the heir apparent.
  5. Yankees are built to hit HRs and hit HRs only. This has been the case for three years now and Cashman is on record saying this is how you win. Unfortunately, it's not true in the playoffs. And while they may win 100 games eventually, they might strike out more than any team in the league this season.
  6. Adding depth pieces to the 6th-worst NHL franchise is fine, but you better be bringing in skill ALSO. Otherwise you're in the exact same spot. Rangers have a lineup of depth players. Adding another Namestnikov-like player or (god forbid) another Fast-like player is almost like doing nothing at all. If you have a chance to make your team better, you do it. Also, people are acting like Panarin is a done deal. Could be in for a shock come July 1st.
  7. I've said it a million times now. Unless the Rangers want to actually put drafted players in the minors, Hartford will continue to suck. Brady Skjei was the last 1st round pick (before anderson & chytil). That was 2012. How could Hartford possibly be good? That's the cost of "going for it." Were Anderson, Chytil, Howden, Hajek, Lindgren, Kravstov, Miller, and Lundqist in Hartford, you'd probably rather watch that team than the Rangers.
  8. Yup. They threw this season away to suck and didn’t get them to the bottom. It’s a copycat league but it’s time for the rangers to cut their own path here. Okay, so they didn’t get that Sidney Crosby or Connor McDavid. They still did well. How do they proceed from here?
  9. Rangers should pick whoever they feel is the best possible player. This narrative that Quinn only wants tough guys confuses me. It's as if fans only know of two styles of hockey.
  10. By too stupid you mean Hank won’t leave. They tried. He said no. Without Hank this team is near or at the bottom of the league this year.
  11. Disagree. Gotta get him over here ASAP. Get him working with Benoit Allaire and Hank sooner rather than later. He's already 23 so another season in the KHL puts him at 24 all of which are played on an entirely different sheet of ice with a lower caliber skillset. Get him over here to get used to everything. There's no such thing as a meaningless game in the AHL and definitely not at MSG. If he's playing for the Rangers organization, it'll only help his development
  12. 330 million is absurd. I don't mind passing on either Harper or Machado. They don't need either player. You are right about 1B though. I absolutely do not believe in Voit or Bird.
  13. This just isn't true and it's brought up every time Kreider's name is mentioned. Kreider keeps himself in great shape and will age well, in my opinion. By all accounts he's a machine off the ice in terms of working out. I could see him lasting a long time. Personally, I'd keep him around at a fair price. He, Zibanejad, and Skjei are the future with the younger guys beginning to fill in around them.
  14. And if they resign him. I can also see him getting the captaincy. So, yeah. They need to make up their mind here. When do we actually start trying to win games?
  15. Wayne Simmons was basically given away. I think the Rangers did very well and I know it’s wishful thinking but I’m hoping this is the last deadline we have to do this.
  16. Actually they don’t. They have no chance of winning the lottery as things stand currently.
  17. He loves NY. But this rarely happens. I can't see a realistic scenario where he comes back.
