  1. Completely disagree, Chytil was in similar hot water here until this run and it's been 5 years and more ice time than Kakko. If they're playing poorly, it's a tough call but to throw away top picks so soon after drafting them sours the club the fans and future potential prospects. Chytil may not be a 2C 3C or 1C but he and Lafreniere showed something to build on after middling seasons. Kakko can get there too, even after dealing with injuries and bottom 6 ice time. If he was lazy or not a hard worker it would be easy to cut bait but until we see that on the ice or in the locker room it's harsh to to slam the door on a talented prospect so quickly. It'd be nice to line up trades and UFAs to push to the next level but isn't that what the Rangers have done consistently without success since 1994?
  2. Lets not forget on the road to their cups Tampa lost plenty and got swept by Columbus, but they trusted their core and their coach and kept building. I feel like we are already halfway there with our young players stars and goalie. Failure hurts, but it doesn't always wound deep, especially if we're having this sort of conversation after a Cup win.
  3. I just asked my brother, is my sports fandom just teams that are either feeders of talent to dynasties or fodder on their way to championships. If the Rangers lose I'd hope to see the Jets do something or anything but be a joke but I know better than to get my hopes up with the Jets haha.
  4. If we lose the sweetest silver lining definitely is not dealing with ESPN's horrible broadcast and their Tampa circlejerk.
  5. Unless penalties away from the play injure a player, you shorten your bench, 5on5 is harder because the other team shot a spitball at you when the teacher wasn't looking because tough titties be better at not getting hit by a spitball. For a country that prides itself on fairness and equality, Canada sure lets a lot of it go in their sport.
  6. Normally I'd agree with you here, but it's ridiculous when a team with top end special teams gets less PPs from egregious penalties in the name of "game management". It cheapens the incentive to "play the right way" to draw penalties, like when Kakko was nearly mounted by Rutta while carrying the puck after winning a board battle through forechecking. And like others have mentioned, the phrase in the rulebook "at the discretion of the official" makes judgement calls open to judge by everyone when referees ignore blatant penalties. Sometimes you get a terrible judge, so therefore those actions were not deemed penalties and legal-by-the-rules plays? Sports aren't the fucking criminal court system, to not call penalties and let the boys police themselves lets bullshit happen like Kucherov taking a shot when they already won the game to fuck with the team just so next game the refs can slap both teams on the wrist and say durr play a clean game. It's amazing that EVERY fanbase in the playoffs can point to an incident so blatantly illegal right in front of a linesman or referee that is ignored because it wasn't ENOUGH of a penalty. If every team in the league in multiple situations sees a problem with terrible judgement, maybe you're a terrible fucking judge.
  7. Half the team is hurt Lindgren and Strome are on one leg, Panarin's hurt everyone is nursing injuries. It's not impossible, but if they lose ot won't be because they didn't fight. The youngest team in the league versus the most experienced postseason team and it's still 6 games.
  8. It's hard to be a fan of this league when the refs suck SO much. Top PP in the league and you miss 3 penalties at least? G A M E M A N A G E M E N T
  9. 2 game 7's isn't enough drama for you guys lol? Would be so happy if this team stuck around for a long time.
