On the one hand, it's Toronto and if Matthews sneezes we all have to hear about it. On the other hand, this is probably close to how bad it would be if the Rangers never conquered the "1940!" cup drought in 94, so I feel a little sorry for them.

Panarin threw some big hits this game and played (for him) a more grindy game. Guy shouldsimplify his game a little. Zib needs to be in the onetimer wheelhouse and let the other guys muck it up if he's not willing or able to be physical. He also needs to lead by example in the 2-way game, and let Kreider and Vatrano focus more on offense.

Why do I believe this?

? I mean Crosby's like 3 Penguins by himself, and I think Trouba threw a clean hit, like the Khaira one where it was clean but it just looked bad. Igor would be the only guy that could match Crosby's impact, but he's struggling and he can't score goals. It's a tough draw if it was the Caps or Pens because Ovi and Crosby can control games like that to be THE guy, and the Rangers had their last GUY in Hank.

Like Vezina-Caliber goalies grow on trees, I understand the frustration but we've seen the guy all year be amazing almost top 5 all time season while carrying the team for at least the first half of the year. That's a 'flukey' goalie teams would line up to trade for.

How many Game 7s has Igor had to play ever? He probably made those save in the KHL and series only went to 6 at most, and almost certainly not with the lack of defense the Rangers are showing right now.

He's been forechecking pretty hard, he hasn't put it together but he's not dogging it at least, which is something we can't say for much of the team.
