  1. Luongo is a perfect candidate. I would even say Scott Gomez as well, his Instagram show is pretty funny. Kasparitis also would be good, along with Bryzgalov.
  2. You hate to see any player get hurt like that, let a lone a star in the league. Hope he is OK and can still play in the future. Perry couldn't do anything about that. A lot of Toronto fans think it was intentional, but I don't get how you can even think it was.
  3. This is hard to answer simply because this is the first year where he has played like this. If what we saw this year is the Buch we will continue to have, then I would say yes. I like Buch, but he has been way to streaky in his other seasons and disappeared for long stretches in the past. I think we need to see more from him to make sure this year wasn't a Boyle type season.
  4. Why would Rinne want to come here. He is at the end of his career, why come to a team that is still rebuilding? He would want to go someplace where he has the potential to win a cup.
  5. On this weeks Up in the Blue Seats Podcast, they had Dubinsky on, and he didn't have much good to say about Torts. He was saying how this team isn't good for Torts and he made it sound like even he didn't like playing for Torts, and was mad when he came into Columbus to coach. Its a pretty good listen. I was never a huge Dubinsky fan, but I didn't know he felt that way about Torts either.
  6. This team isn’t a Torts team. This isn’t a grinding team, it is a team that has a lot of skill. For years we complained how boring this team was with the players he wanted and brought in. I don’t want to go back to that.
  7. I don’t want Torts or Tocchet. We’ve had Torts, and this team isn’t what he is used to. I wouldn’t mind Roy or Knobloch. Boudraux and Babcock kind of stoke me as possibilities as well.
  8. I don’t think he gets fired. I think if they were going to, he would have been gone by now. Arizona fired Tocchet, Columbus announced Torts was done. If he was gone, I think it would have be done Saturday or Sunday.
  9. For what he is going to cost the team cap wise, you’d have to pass. There is no way they could afford to pay anyone after bringing him in here, and they are going to have a lot of guys to re-sign over the next couple of years. Hard pass for me on him, as good as he is.
  10. This was a strange season IMO for any of the rookies, especially Laf. He had a long layoff from hockey because of COVID, and the. No real preseason or camp to get acclimated to the NHL. The kid needed time to get used to the game at this level, and has finally found that stride. The expanded ice time also helped his game. Hope he keeps this up next year and keeps getting better.
  11. He and Dave Maloney on the radio are perfect. Dave is the best because he doesn’t sugarcoat anything, he calls out players for doing dumb things.
  12. If the NHL and Parros did their job, this wouldn’t have happened.
  13. Problem is, who is available that is that type of player. I think Buch might be gone due to what he is going to cost in his next contract, and the team not being able to afford him. I would hope the kids would be better next year, but they also need more roles out there. They need to [play more than just 3rd line minutes and on the second PP unit for 30 seconds. Quinn doesn't use them enough or have enough faith in them to let them play. The lines didn't work well this year, and he failed to move any of them up to see what they could do for a decent amount of time. Laf looked great playing on the top 2 lines, and they would put him there for a couple of games, and then put him back down. Even Kakko and Krav looked better playing up, and weren't kept there long.
  14. I wouldn't mind this, honestly. I don't want him as a coach, but wouldn't mind him being around the team, maybe even working with the young guys on face-offs, stepping into the locker room on big game days and saying something to him. I think his presence around the younger guys would help. Someone needs to light a fire under this teams ass, and I can't think of anyone better to do it.
  15. I think the team is only missing a couple of pieces. The hardest part is bringing in some toughness that you can play on the 2nd/3rd line, and that can contribute to the offense. You need 4 solid lines that can score, we don't need a guy that's going to just fight and hit, those days have passed us. I don't think Quinn is going to get anything else out from these guys.
  16. I have a feeling they are going to take out on him what they didn't do to Wilson, and because of the way everything went down last night. I have zero faith in Parros. I honestly also think he will hit Buch a little harder for the statement the team made.
  17. I agree, this team didn't underachieve. We looked at this defense and felt it was going to be poor, and it has truly surprised us. I don't think anyone thought this corp of defensemen would be this good this year. While it took some time for Laf to turn it on, he is playing a lot better now than when the season first started. the main problem IMO, has been two things: a lack of a banger that can be physical and still play the game and the choices Quinn has made this year. Outside of Panarin, Fox and Strome, the entire team has struggled for a lot of the season. The lines didn't seem to gel, and the kids weren't used like they should have been. If Dolan wasn't happy with the way the team played, that's on the coach, not JD and Gorton. Give them the rest of the season, then clean house. I do like Drury being here, but he is also close with Quinn, so I don't see him getting rid of him. I just don't think Quinn is the guy for this team.
  18. Who do they bring in? I don’t k is anyone available that can play and be physical. We never have guys like that here.
  19. Nope, and what they do have looks lackluster. A good coach would have juggled the lines mid-game, but not Quin
