josh
Oh darn, Jack Hughes, the best talent the rangers have drafted in their history.
RodrigueGabriel
Not me. We can't lose, be it Kakko or Hughes. But my last post came at the moment that his 3rd goal went in yesterday. While an empty-netter, his evasive move on the defender was a thing of beauty and it seemed in that instant incomprehensible that any GM with full faculties that wants to keep his job would not take Kakko withthe 1st pick. Hughes could come back today and score 5 goals and it's a new ballgame. But man, 24 has been impressive. Pete
Thinking Kakko just might be more ready to play against men than Hughes. He'd probably have more of an immediate impact than Hughes, until Hughes fills out.

It's also possible that he could get bigger (spoken as someone who grew 2 inches after high school). Scary. ThirtyONE
Kakko is the better player right now. I don’t know if that means Hughes will eventually overtake him but Kakko is better suited for the next stage of his career.

LindG1000
Hughes with the double goose-eggs against France. Also, Kreider giving up #19 for Clayton Keller is...odd.

He's doing unbelievably well but I don't think one tournament, much less one goal against Denmark is going to change the Devil's minds.

RodrigueGabriel
Finland gets 5 goals vs the Brits and I'm silently cheering that Kakko didn't get a point. We're living in opposite world.

I guess, but he still has one season in the NHL, which is more than a lot of the other guys on that team. He also played the first 2-3 games, so strange that he all of a sudden is a healthy scratch for every game. Anyone watched the games he played? Maybe he played like shit? RodrigueGabriel
There have been questions about the overall quality of play in this tournament, but Finland just shut out a team with Kucherov, Malkin, Kuznetzov, Kovalchuk, and Ovechkin. That is a pretty real deal.
