Their average age had to go up a full percentage point or more. Burns (37) over DeAngelo (26), plus Pacioretty (33), and Stastny (36).

I watched Mike Johnson and Mike Rupp cooing and fussing over the Canes on NHL Tonight last night.  So they subtracted Trocheck, Neiderrider and DeAngelo and added 37 year old Burns (Pacioretty doesn't count at this point).  Wow, that's great.  They both have them winning the division with room to spare.

If Stasny and his 21 goals last season is worth a million and a half, maybe it's wishful thinking that Drury is playing a high stakes poker game to get Motte signed for $750-900K. That would be major boss move on his part if that's how it plays out; that good luck meme(below) they posted on social media to all the departing players and that Motte's name was not on it gives me hope.

Would we have been in on stastny if drury wasnt hard for trochek? As a stopgap for chytill to take over next year?

Don't really understand... Drury "hard for Trochek" means they don't see Chytil as a 2C anytime soon.

 

Strome was supposed to be the stop gap for Chytil and then Chytil did nothing outside of his heater over 10 playoff games.

Strome was supposed to be the stop gap for Chytil and then Chytil did nothing outside of his heater over 10 playoff games. 

 

Agreed that signing Trochek means their confidence level in Chytil isn't very high.

 

But as disappointing as his development may be thus far, the 10 playoff games is not something to completely disregard.
