Nah - imo sorry soft spots don't always last forever they just don't. Spouses, dogs, the ones that got away sure.  Tv broadcasters unless they are the absolute best of the best who's game calling doesn't degrade significantly have an expiration date, his has passed.  Making fun of the guy now based on what he is now has nothing to do with what I thought of him in his prime. In that regard he's no different than a player he doesn't get a lifetime pass.

Happy birthday regardless.

happy birthday sam.

he still gets it done.  a gaff here or there but noones perfect.  amazing the longevity some of these guys wind up getting.  Scully, Carey, Murphy... the list goes on and on.

funny that in this day and age of corp upheaval these guys can still get 50 year careers.

P.S.  Sams o.k. but no where near Jim Gordon back in the day.  Called Giants radio games too.  great smooth silky baritone voice.

It's going to be a tough transition when Sam can no longer do it. I guess Kenny Albert is the easy choice since the fans already know him via radio. But who knows if he would even accept the job.

Happy birthday Sam. You're a staple of Rangers hockey and history. Undeniably one of the most iconic voices in sports. Thank you for your dedication.
