I like him better than Strome or Copp. Meaner than both, same production as both with higher upside along Panarin. If we win a cup in the next three years, I don't give a shit about the last four.

I forget if it was mercagliano or someone else who mentioned a few days ago that the rangers were starting to lean towards a different kind of center. So perhaps they just wanted someone different.

Fine with this. Don't really care about the extra years. They don't matter. Copp just got the exact same contract -2 years. I'd rather have Troheck than Copp.

Hate it. What a weird ass signing. I don’t even mind the player, but in no way is this guy worth a 7 year term. I’ll happily eat my words if he’s a big part of a Cup championship.

 

Also, this is incredibly damning of what Drrury thought of Strome. It had nothing to do with length of contract, and everything to do with simply not wanting him back.

Tougher than Copp and Strome.  Ended up getting the same AAV as Copp but for two more years.  Maybe they just didn't view Copp as an option at center.
