I played the FFXVI demo last night and it was fantastic. If you love action heavy combat with RPG elements, you will love the gameplay. Also the game has a great setting and lore. It's classic medieval fantasy with a lot of political intrigue, war and romance a la Game of Thrones.

You didn't know that? lol That sucks. Welcome to 2007! 😝

Actually the only PS3 model that's compatible with PS2 games was the old 'fat' model, which was the first, or one of the first, PS3 models released.

Yea I was never a big gamer.  I had no idea what I have.  I played a few PS1 games on the PS3 and assumed PS2 would work too.  But yea I did a lot of googling and found out only the original fats that were 20 and 60 gigs and had 4 USB ports.  I read a bunch of stuff about jailbreaking but according to what I read, based on my model number my PS3 can't be done either.  I ended up going to a retro game store a little further away that was open Monday and I bought a used PS2 slim.  All is good in the world now.  I still wanna eventually pick up some PS3 fighter games too though because I wanna get my son(lol yea ok I wanna get it for me lol) a HOTAS joystick and throttle to play the games.  I'm not sure it'll work on the PS2.  Plus, you know, better graphics and less load times on the PS3.

I think if I had the room, I would buy some of the old consoles, and maybe an old CRT TV and play. The PS1 and PS2 was a great era of gaming. I do subscribe to the Premium PS+ tier so I do have access to quite a few old games, which is better than nothing. Of course it's limited. I'd just rather have the actual system.

The PS2 slim I got was $95 on sale so it wasn't too bad.  I picked up a converter on Amazon that lets you use an HDMI with the PS2 instead of having to use the old RWY AV cables that is supposed to help make the picture a little bit better.
