BrooksBurner Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Really team friendly deal IMO. I wonder if this has any market setting effects (Buchnevich?).
Pete Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 AAV is friendly, and frankly I don't think you mind a 34-36 year old RNH on your team. This seems like a good piece of business for the Oilers.
Ozzy Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Good job by the Oils! Seems like a good deal for both.
josh Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Whoa! Some great stuff for Drury to use during negotiations
RichieNextel305 Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Very good deal for Edmonton, and for RNH. If they feel the need to move him down the line and he waived his NMC, that cap hit is super friendly. He will age well.
The Dude Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 That's good news for the league. Pretty friendly deal, except for the length. 8 years fora 28 year old? I guess he'd be serviceable at 36. Hopefully it sets the tone for players in that range. If RNH is worth that, is a guy like Danault going to get? Kinda equals no?

Yeah, this is a template for sure to suggest that term and security will come at the expense of AAV.

Phil Posted June 29, 2021 Author Posted June 29, 2021 Am I the only one that doesn't like RNH? Well, he's not the kind of guy the Rangers need, so it's fine not to like him. It's really not that important, though — how this affects the market is.
josh Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Am I the only one that doesn't like RNH? I don't like him. But I like this deal so much, I almost don't don't like him.
Scott Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Am I the only one that doesn't like RNH? nah you're not alone. He gets a solid meh from me especially for a #1. If the deal helps us great. The term imo isn't ideal, I would lean towards he's bought out before seeing the end of it.
Albatrosss Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Bet he’s hoping McJesus sticks around long term.
