Morphinity 2.0 Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Back to the team that drafted him. This makes the Kessel trade a complete fail. The trade sent Kasperi Kapanen, Scott Harrington, Nick Spaling, and conditional first- (Sam Steel) and third-round (James Greenway) draft picks to the Leafs.
BrooksBurner Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Valuewise, Pitts got hosed. Kapanen can probably put up 30-35 goals with Crosby or Malkin though.
Dunny Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Those rumors of Kapanen for Georgiev were totally legit. lol
Drew a Penalty Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 This trade makes a lot more sense if Lindgren were Liljegren and if Aberg wasn't signed in the KHL for the entire season. So this one is pretty bad for the Penguins.
BlairBettsBlocksEverything Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 The Penguins hate draft picks lol I think their mentality is, as long as they have crosby, they are always going to be contenders. They also are definitey trading a goalie. Maybe they feel they can get a late first or an early 2nd in a deal for one of them? so in essence theyre just trading down in the draft and getting a player who can have an immediate impact

LindG1000 Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 crap we forgot to get rid of this 7th round pick? anyone have a son who wants to say he got drafted in the NHL? Here comes John Poti!
josh Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Have to imagine that Strome can bring back #3 and #5 overall, if this is the bar that is set.
Gravesy Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 So, 3rd liners bring back 1st round picks now? Ok.
BrooksBurner Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 So, 3rd liners bring back 1st round picks now? Ok. I mean, Buchnevich has a better track record than Kapanen so does this mean this is the floor on a return for him? If so, bye Buchy.
Sod16 Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 This trade is basically Kapanen for the 15th overall pick. The rest of the players are not of consequence. I'd say that is a good trade for Toronto. Skjei is a more valuable commodity than Kapanen, and we got what will turn out to be a pick in the low 20s for him.

Keirik Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Here comes John Poti! Allergic to pistachios. He’s fancy.

Hollander looks like a good young prospect. Buchnevich should be worth more than Kapanen.
