We've been down in series before 3-1 and you're either going to a city or you're staying at home and hanging out with your family or something and you take a deep breath and reset. We don't have time for that now. We're going back to the hotel, get some food in us and try to focus on [Tuesday] night and what we need to do better. Gotta find that energy from this point to puck-drop tomorrow. I've liked our resiliency all year long. I've liked our team. I know we're going to come out strong. We're looking forward to that now." josh Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Yeah, I assume theyll get my hopes up at least one more time before breaking my heart.
4EverRangerFrank Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I mean, we have to win at least one game, right? :disappointed:
LindG1000 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I just don't want to be fuckin' swept. Lose in the play-in, fine. Get four days of hockey after 5 months off? NO WAY. Give me a game 4.
tonyfiore75 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Getting a win would go a long way for some of these young guys. Ultimately, this team is going nowhere but a win would provide valuable experience. So do the losses, by the way, but it would be nice for them to know what it takes to win a playoff game. It's all part of the rebuilding process. Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
BlairBettsBlocksEverything Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 would love to see more from this team and see us make it a bit more difficult. but if this is the last game we watch this season, I will say I am overall pretty happy with the progress we've shown as a team. A several month layoff because of a global pandemic that see's the team have to go live in a bubble isn't exactly ideal playoff scenario for anyone. not gonna judge our season based on this. Had some very exciting games to watch. Big wins vs. the Isles. some memorable moments like the Zibby 5 goal game. Hope we get a couple of more though
josh Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I think I go: Kreider - Zibanejad - Kravtsov Panarin - Strome - Buchnevich Lemieux - Chytil - Kakko Howden - McKegg - DiG same D pairs Shesterkin
LindG1000 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I think I go: Kreider - Zibanejad - Kravtsov Panarin - Strome - Buchnevich Lemieux - Chytil - Kakko Howden - McKegg - DiG same D pairs Shesterkin Yeah, I think I do something similar. We're on the wall - throw a hail mary and get a kid or two desperate to prove themselves in the game.
josh Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Yeah, I think I do something similar. We're on the wall - throw a hail mary and get a kid or two desperate to prove themselves in the game. I also want Kakko away from Zibanejad and Panarin, until those guys step it up. Kakko has been the best player with the puck, and when he was on the ice with those guys, they didnt help him produce offense. I put Kratsov with the better defenders with Zibs in the center, and Kreider's experience on the other side. Buch has been playing hard, and can do some of the dirty work (wow that seems weird to type) for the Panarin line. Additionally, you have 6 guys that can potentially kill penalties - which led me to have DiG in over Gauthier - who hasnt shown anything.
Phil Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 Let's not play Danny Boy yet. $5 says they don't even score a goal. This has 2-0 loss written all over it.
Ranger Lothbrok Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 $5 says they don't even score a goal. This has 2-0 loss written all over it. Agree with this. Classic Rangers is going out with a serious whimper. Even if they win, teams that have gone down 2-0 in a best of five have lost 55/56 series. Yikes.
LindG1000 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 $5 says they don't even score a goal. This has 2-0 loss written all over it. I'm very tempted to one-up you and go for a pint-glass bet on this one.
Blue Heaven Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 So are we spotting the Hurricanes a goal in the first 5:00 and/or first couple of shots of the game?
Phil Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 I'm very tempted to one-up you and go for a pint-glass bet on this one. Post-pandemic.
Phil Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 So are we spotting the Hurricanes a goal in the first 5:00 and/or first couple of shots of the game? Oh, easily. Probably on the first shift.
Phil Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 Agree with this. Classic Rangers is going out with a serious whimper. Even if they win, teams that have gone down 2-0 in a best of five have lost 55/56 series. Yikes. Is this an NHL stat, or sports in general?
Karan Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Georgiev better be starting if Shesterkin isn't ready to go.
Karan Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I just don't want to be fuckin' swept. Lose in the play-in, fine. Get four days of hockey after 5 months off? NO WAY. Give me a game 4. Agree. Don't want to get swept, it would be even more embarrassing than this series already has been so far. And from the looks of it, be the only team to get swept in the QR.
AliveIn94 Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 ?Is this an NHL stat, or sports in general?NHL stat. Only the Islanders won in 85 against Washington I think after being down 2-0. Sent from my Z981 using Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
Phil Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 Awesome. I mean, they're definitely losing regardless.
Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 1 out of 56 is crazy. I feel like teams down 3-0 have had a better win/loss than that. I might be very wrong tho. I see one of two things happening in this game: 1. They kinda wake up a little and Mika/Panarin carry them to a 5-2 win after the PP finally clicking (then lose game 3) 2. They come out sloppy, lets in an early goal, never gets in the game and lose 3-0. 80/20 in favor of #2 happening tho.
Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Link: Imagine Igor turning this series around.
