GordonGecko Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 should be phrase/saying, not word for word, "generational" for phrase, "not trying to do too much"

Phil Posted August 16, 2019 Author Posted August 16, 2019 should be phrase/saying, not word for word, "generational" for phrase, "not trying to do too much" They're different topics. We can do a thread on phrasing, too.

fletch Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 'character' because the suggestion that the player who has it is a higher quality human being than others on the team or around the league
BlairBettsBlocksEverything Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 i guess it's a phrase but 'X wanted it more' these are pro athletes who have busted their ass their entire lives. they both want it
GordonGecko Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Impactful. It's not a word. words become words through usage, Impactful has already made it into the Oxford dictionary. Ginormous is a recent word. But some fake words are just people not understanding how to speak English, like "Irregardless"
BrooksBurner Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 i guess it's a phrase but 'X wanted it more' these are pro athletes who have busted their ass their entire lives. they both want it Good one! I think sometimes it is used appropriately, but many times it is a frustrating thing to hear. It's bad in team context as well. If a team wins one zip on a flukey goal, it does not mean they wanted it more.
NY Chief Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 should be phrase/saying, not word for word, "generational" for phrase, "not trying to do too much" phrase - "Like I said..." as the first thing out of your mouth you didn't say anything yet!!!!!!
