Phil Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Brett Howden was injured during the first period of Tuesday?s game vs. the Philadelphia Flyers, and he is reportedly going to be out of the lineup for a while. Once he undergoes an MRI the Rangers will have a more definite timeline, and who the team promotes from Hartford ? if they even choose to do so ? will likely give an indication of the severity of Howden?s injury. https://www.blueshirtbanter.com/2019/1/30/18204065/nhl-new-york-rangers-report-brett-howden-is-going-to-be-out-of-lineup-for-a-while
josh Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 What did he actually hurt? Right knee skated into an opponent, bent backwards slightly.
Phil Posted January 30, 2019 Author Posted January 30, 2019 his ability to be a productive forward Not repping you again.
josh Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 hi Andersen--1st round bust Should be Holland or Letteiri based on recent play.
Phil Posted January 30, 2019 Author Posted January 30, 2019 Should be Holland or Letteiri based on recent play. Also, likely role. I've got no interest in fourth-line winger Lias Andersson. Just bring up Letteiri, Holland, or Meskanen.
josh Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Holland has been noticeable. Last year of his contract, give him a few weeks, maybe someone likes what they see and offer a late round pick Probably be Beleskey or Brickley
Slobberknocker Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 I don't get how guys like Howden and Anderson are getting a tough time from this board. did you guys expect the next Sid? I dont believe anyone can with certainty say what they are at the moment.
Dunny Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Well, we can say they aren't very good at this moment

I dont believe anyone can with certainty say what they are at the moment. I dont think we've been too hard on Howden. Some of these things have been said about him from the beginning. Its just more apparent to the everyone else, except Quinn - which leads to more comments. I dont think anyone is, or should be "done" with either 20 year old, at this point. The same people calling Andersson a bust are also dreaming about 20 year old college players, so its more of a preference of personnel, rather than calling out a guy for not producing, which, I mean, you can. With being the only high draft pick the Rangers have iced in 20 years, he comes with the highest expectations, whether its fair to put those on him, is a different discussion, but can be frustrating, as a fan.

Ozzy Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Well, we can say they aren't very good at this moment That pretty much goes for the whole team, Dunny!
Gravesy Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 It’s probably not all bad for Howden to get a little break. He’s been drowning for months. Hopefully it’s nothing serious.
Albatrosss Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 he looked much better playing wing last night. had couple of chances. My hopes went up for him and came crashing down fast
paddynyc Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 It's a shame was looking forward to see how he was going to respond after the bye week.
BlairBettsBlocksEverything Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 he looked much better playing wing last night. had couple of chances. My hopes went up for him and came crashing down fast I thought he looked pretty good on the wing as well. Depending on how serious the injury is though, I'm wondering if maybe it's best to just shut it down for the year, heal up, don't risk injury, have a productive summer and come back to camp fresh and ready to earn some ice time again.
Future Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Right knee skated into an opponent, bent backwards slightly. Word, thanks. I took a poop and missed it and hand't seen a replay.
Dunny Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Looked more hyper extended than anything, but I'm just a ditch digger.
josh Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Looked more hyper extended than anything, but I'm just a ditch digger. Isn’t that the same thing as bent backwards a bit? Just reporting what I saw, not diagnosing
Dunny Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Yes, but I'm hearing sprain. Micheletti initially said strain lol
4EverRangerFrank Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Kid looked like he was making a go of it last night and could have scored early - that would have boosted his confidence. Unless he?s skating in a week or two save it for next season.
Fatfrancesa Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 There is still 30plus games and almost ten weeks to go. Way to early to shit it down
