Phil
They don't have their second-, third-, or fourth-round picks next year so they'll have to go for max, otherwise they'll have to reacquire all their own picks (has to be YOUR picks, not someone else's). Bugg
Having 2 teams finally trying to nuke each other over the salary cap idiocy is what we need, even if it involves the Islanders. Would expose this whole salary cap charade across the NHL and all the North American sports leagues for the total salary suppression disgrace it really is. These sports teams have the money, none has gone out of business since the Cleveland Barons 40 years ago. It's disgusting we as fans are asked to care what a rich team owner pays his players. The NBA is far and away the worst. The media cover the various cap permutations more than they do the actual games, even if the NBA regular season is worthless anyway. Why the NHL felt compelled way back to hire this evil mite Bettman for that league, I'lll never understand.

No. Central registry would reject the offer. It simply wouldn't count. josh
There is 1 person to offer sheet this season, Nylander, but the Islanders dont have their picks. Next season, there is Leivo (who cares), Matthews (aint signing), Marner, Carrick and Kapanen. If they offer sheet Marner, they're either giving up 4 1sts, or all of their picks next season. After losing all of their picks for 2019, they are not going to turn around and lose all of their picks for 2020. Marner is not worth 4 first round picks or 10m. Mentioning the Islanders offer sheeting Carrick or Kapanen isnt tweet worthy
