Hayes "Attracting Significant Interest" Ahead of Draft

I didn?t say it was fact, I said I believe it. Regardless of how much of an asshole he is, I don?t think he made it up. As far as the substance of choice, all I can guess is that he, like many others rehabbing an injury, could have got a bit hooked.
People also believe the Earth is flat...

Considering there was corroborating interviews and info given on NHL radio by people in the know, immediately following Trembley, certainly added to the validity. To boot, multiple hosts and guests then lambasted Trembley not because he is full of shit, but because he violated the policy of confidentiality and should have definitely known better, given he was in MGMT.

Bottom line, listeners didn't walk away from 2 hours of discussion thinking maybe Galy is getting a bad rap, even though one may have thought Trembley was way out of line.

Anyone in the interview say "opioids"?

And of course they never really attack anyone's character when running them out of town in Montreal amirite?

And of course a Google search brings up a ton of credible sources carrying same story...

Ha, didn't realize "chopping wood" was such a safe practice. 'Shutting the saw' must be the equivalent of closing the porn window.

Must be more careful with my wording, this place is a minefield. I'm modifying all my scouting reports, no longer will I say...

he's a good stick handler

plays like he's alone on the ice

in hard situations he grips his stick too tight

over manages the puck

likes to dangle

he's got soft hands

gets pumped up

quick wrister

drops his gloves only to get beat

isn't afraid to shoot

clutcher and grabber

will handle his business

loves the wrap arounder

holds onto it too long

a real ball bruiser

quick release

gets greasy goals in dirty areas

does his job

plays hard

solid in the clutch

slippery in tight spaces

the sydney crosby

the morton downey (cause he's a jerkoff)

washes the dishes

Some original material for your entertainment.

ha. i dont know if anyone on this board is old enough to know who morton downy is.

The scrutiny in Montreal seems over-the-top and only Toronto compares in that way. That whole day a side story was the problems with playing in Montreal and how Galy needed to get the hell out for his own good.

As for more exact details, my contemporaneous posts will be much more accurate than my recollection some 6-8 months later. I don't find the search function very helpful for stuff that old, so I don't even try anymore. There was certainly discussion about pain killers. I don't remember words like heroin or Oxy's being used, so I used opiods, because I know they weren't referring to Ibuprofen at the time. Who knows what form or delivery mechanism. What was reported was that he went to rehab. Opioids and alcohol were the implied problems. I can't attest to the accuracy of Trembley or anyone else, but unfortunately it seemed believable based on everything I heard.

BTW, that week there were also conversations about trading Galy. I also brought that info here and that Montreal was finding no takers for Galy even at a significant discount. The team leaked to someone that they tried, or someone got it out of them. Thought at the time it was great reporting by someone on NHL radio. The result meant they were going to hold on to him.

I personally went from a guy who was intrigued about bringing him here (given his usage in the playoffs), to someone who then told this forum we need to steer clear and not risk good assets on this player.
