Phil
In and of himself, this doesn't mean much. Now, if Mark Hunter follows him, they're getting somewhere.
Mike
I hope this doesn’t make JT stay. I’ll lose 2 golf rounds.
NYR2711
I hope this doesn’t make JT stay. I’ll lose 2 golf rounds. There is a lot of protesting of the new stadium, so maybe that will bring uncertainty and doubt, and maybe he will leave.

Sod16
Yes, he has a good track record, but he did not leave the Devils in good shape. At age 76 in October, doesn't his mojo wear off at some point? Nevertheless, this does at least increase the chances that Tavares signs.

Scott
Hunter has indeed left Toronto and can start with any other team at the end of July, post draft and free agency period. Personally I'm thrilled to see LL land with the Islanders, the game has passed him by going back to the lockout. Hopefully he turns the reigns over to his clueless son when he's done. The smartest thing they could do is bring Hunter him, without him this move isn't going to change much other than the way they get their hair cut and shave their faces. Slobberknocker
i think he is gone. this move is well worth a shot for the Isles. not a betting man but if their is a line on Tavares to the rangers i'd say it move out a bit.
Phil
He has a nasty buyout clause and at least four more years on his deal. My guess is they reassign him some meaningless title and let him ride out the rest of his deal. Phil
Yeah, Wang took serious care of him upon selling the team. Signed him to a long-term, effectively buyout proof extension that the new owners had no choice but to take on. If Hunter joins them after the draft, I can assure you Hunter will at least give Lou his draft briefs, with particular focus on guys he likes at 11, 12 and into the early 2nd. He'll also get everything on the London prospects, like Bouchard.
Phil
With Lou running the show, I'd put good money on one of, if not both, the 11th and 12th picks getting traded to add quality players. In particular, a goalie.
Vodka Drunkenski
It?s nice to have multiple 1st round picks, hopefully the Rangers can have them 2 years in a row if Tampa wins. It can really help build a solid contending team.
