The 10 Best Pre-Easton Synergy Hockey Sticks

Morphinity 2.0

I remember everyone having a Christian red, white and blue stick with a crisscross pattern on the blade.

I loved my Easton Ultra-Lite. One of my favorite sticks.

Hated that innovative and the Louisville rubber shafts. Didn't like the feeling at all.

My first aluminum was a gold Powerflight shaft. It was awesome.

Also used the Coffey Sherwood and the Branches (hmm. cant remember which curve) for a few seasons.

Also, this mentions a poll... were there other options available?

Anybody else old enough to remember taking a torch to their stick blades?

Was kind of a right of passage in the locker room working the torch.

Not sure if we knew what we were doing, but made for some wicked curves.

Yup, though it was more my friends' dad doing it for us than us doing ourselves. We were too young to be trusted with it. We'd totally have set shit on fire.

Loveeeeeeed the Montreal woodies and their composites that they made later on. The wooden sticks though were for my money the best wooden sticks ever made. I still have an 8825 with the graph light stuff to shave down weight.

What pre-Synergy pro stock stick did you own, Ed?

I didn't switch over to one pieces until sophmore year of high school. I went from Bauer woodies to a warrior AK27 two piece, to bauer supremes. Now I use the RBZ by CCM/Taylor Made.

I remember the teams my dad coached, that I hung around on the periphery of in the late 80's early 90's with great fondness. You're an old man. :)

Oh I am.

But you must remember that generation of hockey player.

We let that shit flow out the helmet.

Would be a line formed in front of mirror before we hit the ice.

AC/DC, Judas Priest, Ratt blaring in the locker room.

Workouts included lots of bicep, maybe a tad bench press.

We were terrible.

But man the women loved it

Oh shit yes, I remember they all had gravy, shirtless grass cutting jobs with the town in the summer and you could watch the highlites on the local cable news. That's all we wanted to be. It's not like that anymore. Shitty.
