I remember last April when we played the Sabres and this Devon Levi kid stole the game for Buffalo. I'm hoping we don't see the same, but with the slow start I am expecting for the Rangers I'll say Sabres 3- Rangers 1. Empty netter at the end to seal it, spoiling a great start for Igor.

I think it will be Knoblauch for many of the reasons listed above; familiarity with the young players, has worked closely with Drury for awhile, etc. This team needs an X’s and O’s guy. I don’t think a yelling, passionate coach isn’t going to get through to this group of veterans, so no Messier or Roy. Although, not sure how well regarded Roy is as a tactician, maybe he is good with the X’s and O’s I think Brunette would be good pick. Quenville stepped down end of Oct. ‘21 and Brunette took over. That was Brunette’s team. Much of the X’s and O’s is the assistant coach, not the head coach. Now Brunette is in Jersey and I am pretty sure it is his offense and style of play they are implementing . After Game 2 I doubt it was Lindy Ruff that came up with the adjustments. I just don’t get the feeling that Lindy Ruff is an X’s and O’s guy, maybe he was when he first got the Sabre’s head coaching job 26 years ago, but the game has changed a lot in that time. No way it’s Laviolette. His best years are behind him and he loves playing man to man defense, which is only as effective as the skating ability of your players. If this roster didn’t have the skating ability to exit their own end and get through the neutral zone against NJ, no way this team would be successful with a man to man.

Yes, been here since ‘98 and no plans to head back east. I watch nearly every game, love hearing Sam and Joe call the games, even though Sam is slipping quite a bit. It’s funny because I always like Fall hockey, you know, meaningless games in November. Probably because playoff time this team doesn’t show up half the time.

I’ve been following this team for 40 years, even after moving to California over 20 years ago. It's performances like these last two games that really has me questioning why I still care so much.

Again, this is like the Chytil situation, a young skilled guy that needs a chance at real minutes, including power play time. Laf should be given a chance to play top 6 minutes, how long does he stay blocked by Kreids and Bread, 3 or 4 years? If he can't make the switch to the right side he is stuck on the third line. Unless, they keep him with Mika and Kaapo. I'd like to see that line play a bit more together.

Lafreniere's skating isn't improving and he is third on the left wing depth chart so perhaps ship him to Arizona for Chychrun straight up.

I’m starting to question my sanity. Why the hell do I care so much about this team? They obviously don’t care very much. When George Allen was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Deacon Jones was his presenter. A line of his from the speech has stuck with me for years. Deacon quoted George Allen as saying ‘In sports, the only measure of success is victory. We must sacrifice everything to this end. The man who can accept defeat and take his salary without feeling guilty is a thief.’ A lot of thieves on this team.

Why the hell not at this point. Valli is the best thing about game broadcast theses days. Definitely isn’t the product on the ice.

I like Brodzinski’s energy so I like this move. I don’t what exactly Ben Harpur brings to the table but at this point any shake up is welcome.
