  1. That was for 3rd period/OT only, but the OT goal shifted Freddy into the negative on high danger. It only reached 2OT because he also made plenty of really good saves, high danger included. “Just about” wasn’t good enough though that’s why I said it lol
  2. It could be. I missed portions of the 1st/2nd because kids bedtime so I could have missed waves of Carolina domination, but this was Valley sharing expected for the 3rd and OT where I was glued to the tv… Way more even in expected and in line with what I was seeing. After Kreider’s goal the goalies were so good
  3. That graphic feels way off. NST had it way more even both at 5v5 and all strengths, and as I watched the game I thought it was way more even without even looking. Not taking away from Igor at all but I thought Freddy had to be just about as good. People have to dig deeper than shot differential. Typically Carolina also dominates at high danger and that’s where the ice tilts. They haven’t here at all, and the low danger bullshit is like posting thoughts and prayers on facebook after a tragedy
  4. He has been, but DeAngelo replaced him and has been very good in the first 2 games even though nobody probably wants to admit that. Also, that stinks. We've missed Chytil all season. Thems the breaks.
  5. NYR 5v5 through 2 games: 4 GF 4 GA, 50.42 xGF%, 22-19 HDCF, 48-57 SC (all scoring chances) The results are even and they deserve to be even. Don't care about total scoring chance differences when high danger is at least balanced, and so far slightly in the Rangers' favor. This all backs up the eye test through the first 2. The teams have traded chances at 5v5. The fact the Rangers have been able to essentially nullify the 5v5 advantage, and lean into their strengths on special teams and in net, is a terrific start to the series. Hoping this tune carries forward into Raleigh...
  6. This reads like an oxymoron. Reasons to dislike him despite all those reasons to like him are…? Fucked your wife while you were golfing?
  7. His brain is why he’s a top 2 defenseman and top 10ish player in the league, so it’s ok
  8. I haven’t been disappointed in either yet thus far this playoff run.
  9. A series changing injury? As in Chytil gets hurt and that's a rallying point for the Canes to win the series? I get the hesitation but if Chytil is flying and passing everything in practices, he's a major upgrade in the lineup and he's already shown he can be effective in the playoffs in the past.
  10. I wouldn’t take Rempe out for Brodz. Only to get Chytil in if he’s ready
  11. I agree but is Aho really a better setup man than Zibanejad? Maybe he doesn't need as much help as you (and I) thought.

  13. "I know you are but what am i" LMAO
  14. Why do you care is the better question? Don’t see the harm in analyzing the move after some time has passed. Drury has had many moves not work out for him, and the decision he made between Strome and Trocheck is one in the win column. Big win.
  15. Zib - present Kreider - present Igor - present Fox - present (could still do more tbh) Trocheck - present (and then some) We just need Panarin now…to keep on doing what he’s been doing all year. I’m somewhat surprised more people aren’t talking about his game last night. Maybe just a bit overshadowed by Igor Laffy and Trocheck being ridiculously spectacular. He’s driving to the middle of the ice, taking shots when he has a good look instead of forcing extra passes that aren’t there. That play prior to his OT penalty (not his fault) was a thing of beauty. He’s chipping in on the forechecking. He’s laser focused on maintaining the aggression and it needs to stay that way. The production is following.
  16. He definitely was fighting it. There were a lot of unclean stops, dropping or fumbling catchable shots, somewhat shaky rebound control, but this is what elite goalies do. They fight through and persevere, when they aren’t exactly playing up to their A+ level and still get the job done. By the time it hit OT he seemed to be gobbling almost everything up clean by then - like he had finally hit a groove.
  17. Guys, they can still show Rempe smiling at a scrum happening, just from the press box instead of the bench or penalty box
  18. At the time, Trocheck probably had the 2nd best year of his career last year. He was a monster at faceoffs. Played all situations. Gets chippy and in your face. Forechecks well. The production was roughly the same as what they were getting out of Strome, but had all that extra stuff thrown on top. There were projections for the first year production to look more like what he did this year, based on the fact he was already a really good player without Panarin, unlike Strome. He fell short of those projections last year, but he was still a better overall player than Strome. The fact the gap between the two widened so significantly this year doesn’t mean it didn’t exist to begin with.
  19. Yeah, right, that’s why I was saying him not playing much from the 3rd period on doesn’t exactly kill you if the Canes are shortening their bench significantly more.
  20. I think this is still the right move. If something isn’t right with Chytil in-game, you move Wennberg back up and Chytil gets nailed to the bench like Rempe does anyway for the rest of the game. Then you go back to Rempe the next game.
  21. If Chytil’s head and mentality is right, the impact he could have is getting significantly underrated here. This series isn’t over and the Rangers have gotten little offense from their bottom 6.
  22. I’m more 50/50 on this after seeing OT deployment last night. The Rangers were rotating 11 forwards, so Rempe was benched yeah, but the Canes were rotating 9. The Rangers are not likely going to suffer from one guy benched in OT if the Canes are benching 3. Bullshit penalties called against him at any time during the normal course of the game when he’s out there is still a potential problem though. Tough call, but I’m less concerned about losing depth from his benchings late in a close game than I was. At least against the Canes here.
  23. Yup. Even last year he was head and shoulders above what Strome ever did, because he plays a complete game and Strome never did.
