  1. Perhaps they are looking to move other guys instead of him. They need to improve defensively. I would think a guy like Ehlers could be on the block to re-appropriate some cap to the backend.

  3. Strome didn’t have possession, but once he touched the puck before Copp had tagged up, it’s off-side.
  4. I don’t think it was off-side at all. It’s no different than a delayed off-side, and that gap where Makar did not have the puck on his stick, the teammate tagged up. It’s a good goal.
  5. Keys to the game: 1) Get bodies in front of Vasi 2) Shoot the puck with good looks as they don’t happen frequently against playoff Tampa 3) Score first, don’t want to be chasing almost ever against this team 4) If 3 happens, don’t let up You’re welcome! - Captain Obvious
  6. The short answer is the game is played on ice not exclusively on paper. The long answer is I’m sure the 10 previous teams who have played Tampa thought they had a good chance to win. Yet Tampa prevails because they know how to play all forms of hockey. They can shut down teams when they have a lead. They make it hard to enter the zone and when you do, they block shots left and right, forming a brick wall around their goaltender. And if you’re lucky enough to get pucks through, their goalie is a previous Vezina and Con Smythe winner. They have high powered talent that can capitalize on mistakes as you push offensively. They can open up the game and make high skilled plays should they fall behind. They are never out of a game. I would agree that the Rangers are built very similarly to Tampa, but they are still well behind them in terms of structured play. This will be great experience for them one way or another. Anything can happen though, and I do think this Rangers team has the moxie and belief in themselves that Toronto and Florida did not.
  7. Drury: “…went down to the room after the game last night and Copper looked at me and said ‘Sorry about your 1st’” L.M.A.O!!
  8. Actually the playoffs were looking pretty bleak after G4 against Pittsburgh. Even moreso in G5 in the 2nd period down 2-0. They weren't playing good hockey at all until their backs were all the way up against the wall. They turned it on in a serious way ever since then. They played Carolina hard every game except G5. Truth be told it should have been Rangers in 6.
  9. Yes. They are the Rangers tems we used to watch, without the elite goaltending. Great depth - probably 2nd to none in that department. Not enough high end talent. Bad PP.
  10. The Rangers were 24-48 in faceoffs last night. Zib 10-6 Strome 6-5 Copp 4-12 Goodrow 3-17 Chytil 1-5 Lafreniere 0-3 Obviously didn’t matter, and IDGAF, but still thought it was interesting. Why so bad? This is definitely a team issue because Copp and Goody have good dot numbers in their career.
  11. So if beating Pittsburgh was expected and just making it to the Canes series was “just gravy”, then what is this? The pumpkin pie after Thanksgiving dinner?
  12. We got more out of trading 2 months of Nash than we gave for 5 1/2 years of Nash.
  13. We know the pain Canes fans feel right now. Their team reminds me a lot of the Rangers teams in the past. Great team with a shit PP that ultimately sinks the team. What a pitiful PP they have. @CanesFanRandy Good series! I’m sure we’ll play again within the next couple of seasons.
