Calgary was 3rd in goals against all year, then they gave up 25 goals in 5 games. I didn’t watch enough of the series, but it would lead me to believe that it was a combination of Markstrom choking and team defense falling apart. Don’t know how else a team with strong GA numbers gets blasted so heavily

I feel bad for Mike Smith. The guy shouldn't be anywhere near a starting goalie for any team. Not his fault that's what is being asked of him in Edmonton...and against the Avs.

I don’t follow. I moved Trouba down 2. I didn’t move Strome that low.

Hot Take in Rangersland: Strome playing is more important than Goodrow. Keeps top 9 intact. Rangers looked like absolute shit at 5v5 after he left, and if you didn’t think the 2nd line could look a lot worse - it did. And that was with Goodrow slotted up. Listen, I love Goodrow. He’s a massive big balls gamer, but he’s not a perfect player. He makes plenty of mistakes that don’t get talked about. He generally provides next to zero offense. They can and have won plenty of playoff games without him if he can’t go.

Goodrow not ruled out. That’s good. Probably means the foot is not re-broken. Going to come down to pain tolerance and if they can get the swelling down.

I have a sneaking suspicion Strome and Goodrow are out. I would still be surprised if Goodrow’s left foot isn’t re-broken, which I have to assume would mean he’s done for the season.

Either the fence has been mended, or not having the KHL contract to fall back on makes him more attractive in trade. I’m starting to think it’s the former now. If there were still issues between Drury and Kravtsov, I don’t see why Kravtsov would still trust Drury that much to trade him, to the point of rejecting Traktor’s contract offer. I’d love to see this kid in blue.

I’m kind of worried that Goodrow’s foot is re-broken. On top of Strome possibly being done, that would be big trouble.

This. You can say TB was better 5v5, Rangers should have scored more, etc. Fact of the matter is we had a 2-0 stranglehold and they were dead in water. Trouba gave them life every which way possible. His worst game as a Ranger. We also wouldn’t be here without him so need to keep perspective.
