That's probably a good idea.

LOL
I dont think I’ll ever be unhappy again. Maybe when I see Laf playing 4th line with Howden and Digiuseppe, but untill then Im smiling 24/7.

Don't even joke about that. lol They'll probably have him blocking shots or something.

I think we owe everything to the spirit of Steven McDonald. The fact they used his badge as a good luck charm for two years in row, and it worked, is pretty amazing. Fly high, good sir!

Basically how it went downI had some of this

Rykov just left for KHL.
Rykov, we hardly knew ye.

Minnesota could have used a guy like ALF, as that franchise desperately needs an offensive impact player like that to build around. They could have used the lottery win just as much as the Rangers, probably even more. They have a lot of money tied up in defense too.

Sometimes the whole captaincy thing can be a bit overrated to me. As long as your team has excellent leadership, whether it's by one player or a group effort, that's all I really care about. Nobody needs to have a 'C' stitched onto their uniform as a display.

Getting the number two pick last year, the number one pick this year. This shit never happens to the Rangers, in every literal sense. I saw the corner of the Rangers' logo on the winning ball and was like, "!!!!!!!!!!!!"
-
All GMs with the first overall pick get called with offers. lol Gorton will reply to all of them, "That's nice." *click*

Only 3 reasonably expectable ways this situation resolves itself.
1) Trade Georgiev
2) Buy out Hank
3) Hank retires
That’s basically it.
Its hard to see Hank retiring and leaving $4.5 million on the table, especially when he clearly feels like he can still play and contribute.
A buyout is really difficult to see with him too, given what he’s meant to the franchise.
Pretty much. He's not that nice of a guy to leave that much money on the table. lol I don't really see him being bought out, either, even though it's just one year. I think JD wants to keep everything on good terms with him, he knows what Hank means to this organization. Like I said before, I just think Georgiev gets dealt at Draft time. This team still has needs and he's someone you can deal to help get you some. It's not a huge deal having Henrik around for another year, helping Shesterkin. He's going to play 60+ games anyway. I don't think Henrik's 20 starts or whatever is going to kill the team. It's not like they absolutely have to make the playoffs next year. They still very well could, but I look at it as another transitional year.

So, wait, this did really happen!?
-
Right. Gauthier can be a 13F for the time being and fill in as needed, but like Howden, is still so raw it's hard to define who he is or might be.
Lemieux is trash. He's shittier Ryan Hollweg.
Wow. That's pretty shitty. lol
-
Translation: Henrik plays out his last year here and Georgiev is part of a Draft Day trade.

If it weren't for the hard cap, we'd probably still have Kevin Hayes as a perfect #2 center. :banghead:
Things were definitely a bit miss-timed there. Now they do have some assets they could deal for a center, so we'll see.

Best part of this is that we didn't have to sit through a whole season hoping to tank for him. They still gave us enjoyable hockey (for the most part) and we were still rewarded! Suck it, Detroit!
Detroit had a 20 year period or whatever where they were really good, if not great, and won several championships. Screw them. lol
-
They certainly have the potential to be Stanley Cup contenders for a longer period of time than they were in the Lundqvist Era. Yeah, they still had mostly pretty good teams with him, but they weren't really Cup contenders every year. There were some teams he and the defense had to carry because they weren't necessarily strong offensive teams, mostly when Tortorella was coaching. How things are shaping up now, they have the potential to be very strong in all facets going forward for quite some time. Be excited.

13 would be a pretty sweet number but I’m guessing he will be 22.
I'm thinking the same.
-
Lol true. Cant wait for the refs to start giving us cheap PP’s everytime someone touches our Golden boy Alexis.

He's going to have to pick a new number. :p

I've always thought the draft was rigged.
This is the first time they actually showed anything.
I hope it was rigged. That means the NHL has more in-store for us!
This could be our Patrick Ewing moment. lol
-
You know what was bullshit? When the Rangera had a one in five chance of getting Crosby, and not only not getting him, but picking 18th after a dreadful season. So, screw those people.
-
#Rigged is trending on Twitter. LOL. What, did they really want Edmonton or Pittsburgh winning again?
-
The good luck started by bringing JD back.
-
LOL I'm so used to that being the Rangers' kind of luck. It kind of doesn't feel real what happened.
This is surreal. Two years in a row of pure luck for this franchise? It's never happened. This will be their first overall pick since 1965.
