Gorton just reached way too much for my liking. I liked getting Othmann and Drury didn't fuck around here and just took BPA.

Nashville has always been a very sound organization. So, the fact that they were high on him and mad they missed it has me even more optimistic.

I like Garrand, but I don't think they're ready to give him the backup role just yet. Halak is probably gone, so it's just going to be another cheap stopgap solution until then.

His curve might have been the best I've seen it. He goes from giving up ten runs his last game to a perfect game. That's baseball for you. A combination of him being dominant and the A's being that dreadful. But still, a perfect game is a perfect game and it takes everyone and a lot of luck. I thought Rizzo made at least one or two plays in the field to help preserve it. Incredible to witness and I've seen the prior two by Yankees pitchers also. With the way this season is going, it will probably be the lone highlight.

He produces, but it's still kind of an overpay. To me he's more of a 7.5-8 million player, here he's almost nine. If I'm New Jersey in their situation, though, I'm probably still doing that anyway.

Let's say Halak walks and they don't go with Garrand. Other than Quick, who else is available to back up at a very cheap rate? They may find someone better than Quick is now (not too hard), but they don't have a lot to work with.

With Pittsburgh and Washington gradually trending downwards, the Rangers and Devils should be battling it out for the division for quite some time. The rivalry is definitely back and the games should be great.

Overall I've liked Drury's drafts, so we'll see. They seemed to have gotten a bit better after Clark got fired.

Even if they don't get a goalie, and run it back with Schmid, they are still going to be really good. Again, I believe Schmid is 100% their future starter anyway.

Especially after what down in LA, I kind of expected him to retire at the end of season. On top of just basically looking done, I thought that's where he was headed. Maybe he does if nothing happens with the Rangers, or anyone. lol
