  1. Nightmare season for the Mets but I think they did alright for themselves here. They restocked their barren farm a bit and freed up a ton of money for the offseason. Maybe trading Alonso at some point isn't out of the realm of possibility? I think they're bringing in Stearns of Milwaukee at some point to help the farm even further. The Lindor and Nimmo contracts aren't great, though.
  2. I can't wait to see who they are. I'm sure they will be banned for life, or a very long time minimum. This is a huge stain for the league.
  3. Kind of meant yes, basically, okay? lol All of this makes this past postseason worse for them. No more super team now.
  4. I think it's worth it. He's excellent and the Ducks need to retain their young talent. If I was a fan, I'd still be pissed they missed out on Bedard. lol
  5. Between this and Bergeron retiring, kind of an end of era in Boston (well partly), except for Marchand.
  6. Does he actually think he's worth more than that rumored amount? If so.....LOL!
  7. Yeah, I was going to say this is probably a one-year stop gap before he comes back in another year when the cap situation is a bit better.
  8. Nice move by Carolina honestly. He goes back there on a very reasonable deal and will probably be really good again. lol Philadelphia is a dumpster fire right now and wasn't the place for him to go.
  9. One Bruins player I can respect. Great player and always liked his overall game. Happy trails.
  10. I know the draft can be a crapshoot, and Laf was the consensus number one, but wow. Stutzle has blown past Lafreniere and Byfield immediately. He looked like a number one pick himself with the way he played in that tournament too.
  11. If they miss the playoffs entirely, we have bigger problems. lol At that point you're considering dumping guys let alone calling it an epic failure. To me, this is still a really good team that has had no direction for several years and should be going further than they did last year. If you want to say the prior season was mostly luck, you aren't wrong, but they created their own luck. Last year was just a total meltdown and a gutless effort.
  12. Please don't go to Pittsburgh. lol Actually him winding up back with the Senators would be wild. Maybe he winds up with the Kraken? That would be a huge get for that franchise still early in its existence.
  13. I bet. Actually I think Bonilla has something like nine more years left on that buyout deal. Ludicrous.
  14. This is the best coaching staff they've had since the Torts years. There are no excuses for anyone now. Having said that, the jury is still out because this is the first real coach this group has had. It's been two years of Gallant and three years of Quinn prior to that. Not great. Basically all of the flaws that have been behind the bench have been rectified. Now it's time to execute. Considering how all of the players were literally begging for help in the post season meetings, I think they're ready.
  15. Goodrow getting dealt to make cap space. Drury could be working magic. Otherwise, yes, they have zero funds. lol
  16. He still hasn't signed! Tarasenko still hasn't signed either! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!
  17. Not yet. I will, though. I was actually just waiting for the series to finish entirely before starting. So, I will soon.
  18. I think the Islanders are paying DiPietro until 2029 or something.
  19. You know it's bad when we're talking about Petr Nedved's 2008 PTO performance.
  20. I think so, yeah. He had a really good preseason too and I just wanted it to happen. lol
  21. This rumored bridge deal still hasn't been signed yet! Something could be happening!!
  22. Yeah, and it's just really hard to win in general. Most teams don't really win or go through long stretches without winning anything. Toronto is what, 55 years now? Not only that, they haven't even sniffed a Stanley Cup Final berth since '67! Detroit had a great, long period of sustained success, but prior to that, they were a joke for 25-30 years.
