Great start boys! -
No no no no. Besides the fact I don’t think that brings back a Kings random of anything if you include a bad contract. You know what you have in ADA. A young defenseman with high offensive potential. In other words, a promising player lol. We shouldn’t want to trade a promising player in hopes of getting a future promising player in return. You aren’t building a winning team that way. He’s a good skater, fairly tough for his size, mobile, and he’s not in a position at this point in his career to demand a 9m contract with nmc. He also had proven he can play in NY which tends to eat some people up at times. He’s an RFA that is showing his first bit of real potential. There isn’t 3 years of past elite success to bargain with. You’re going to have to pay him, but somewhere in the range of 5m or so for 3-4 years hopefully.

[friedman] Georgiev is in Rangers' Long-Term Plans?
Keirik replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
Skjei, Georgiev, and Fast for Nylander. Shore ups their defense, get an insurance goalie, and a responsible two way winger for a deep playoff run. Turn those 8-4 losses into 5-3 wins! Go leafs go ! -

Yeah looks like a 3rd liner that gets some pp time on the second unit. Potted 20 last year . Just looking at their cap hits. Who the hell is going to play defense for them next year? Lol. Give em Skjei and Georgiev and we will take Nylander and his contract :) -

Wouldn’t be too bad and it does offer a production replacement for Kreider if you feel last year was more of a norm and not the production of playing with talented players. Awfully small though -
[friedman] Rangers Are Thinking "More and More" About Keeping Kreider
Keirik replied to Phil's topic in New York Rangers
That’s the only way I see the, doing it. It is fairly unlikely though but stranger things have happened lol -
Approach both Strome and ADA during the all star break and offer them 3 year deals. Strome 3x5 and ADA 3x4.5 and see what happens. At least try and get that out of the way or give you an idea where they stand before any trade deadline.

Tony DeAngelo Named NHL's Second Star of the Week (Jan 6 ? Jan 12)

My man ! -
Well both Strome and ADA are rfas with arbitration rights. Both probably stay and at worst after arbitration. I don’t think you can get rid of ADA because there are guys in the pipeline. To me that’s crazy. Premier offensive defensemen aren’t that common. He’s young so he will still learn and improve defensively. We are good offensively. Part of the reason is due to him. I think the pairing of him and Fox. I think they can be a force within the next 2-3 years and be dominant on the ice. What you do is try and get rid od Skjei, Staal, and Smith. At worst two of them are def gone at the end of next year but you need to lose at least one of those contracts to keep Strome and ADA even if it’s just for whatever they get in arbitration.

Yeah for sure but it?s also works in the sense of ? our second best player in ziby makes x. We can?t give you more than that? Zibo is another animal because he performs at a level above everyone else.
-
If you think about it, the Rangers have a chance to establish a contract culture as the AVS and Boston to some extent. “Yes you deserve x,y,x but we aren’t paying you more than our A player.......so please accept a little less as others did and let’s keep this rolling”

[friedman] Rangers Are Thinking "More and More" About Keeping Kreider

Guy has been benched a few times here and there and yes its rather unlikely. However, they are going for a cup and that usually costs something. Just an idea but I appreciate the input. -

Debrusk only downside is his size but it is what it is. The trade would make some sense for both sides. Rangers get a cost controlled fit. Bruins get a bigger, stronger, playoff ready version who’s from Massachusetts for another cup run. I’m not a gym though so what do I know lol -
If you find a way to get rid of any 2 of the three in Smith, Skjei, Staal then sure. Preferably Skjei and Smith with no salary retention since that’s the most savings to spend elsewhere. I don’t want to lose ADA specifically. I definitely want to keep Strome but I don’t see him taking a nickel less than 5m though. 5x3. I can live with that.

I think his off-season was horrid. Nashville must have been dancing on their draft table when they were able to unload Subban to NJ -

In terms of Staal and Girardi, I think most of us assumed it was one or the other. I re,enter many of us surprised they signed Staal after previously signing Girardi. -

God no. He brings very little these days and even him at a discount probably costs as much if not more than giving someone more deserving a chance from within. -

Could be wrong but I think it’s adding it Shattnkirks dead cap space -
Witcher 3 is easily too 5 best games ever released for the open world genre in my mind. Not sure though I have interest in watching the series though.
