I think we just have no idea what 18year olds play like since it’s been so long since we’ve had one. Excuse the comparisons to guys like Crosby and McDavid - he’s not that - but this guy plays a lot like svechnikov last seasons and that guy had a pretty good sophomore season. That said he’s been a bad roster player and he’s been carried by the team. I still think it’s worth the exposure but he certainly hasn’t been lighting the world on fire. The point is I don’t expect him to. He’s a kid still, a young kid, and needs time.

Gotta take points here if we want to make the playoffs, but regardless these games are going to be worth their weight in gold next season and beyond

No need to panic boys - we lost to a better team after an unbelievable stretch of play. All we could ask for is meaningful hockey down the stretch and that’s exactly what we have. Next one up is another playoff game so keep jamming the kids and let them get the experience they will need next year and beyond

They have all the intangibles necessary to contend, but the personnel is not quite there. They need a fourth line and they need to fix the smith/trouba slow as shit issue on defense. After that and you have a contender, and given the age and salary situation of these guys I think they're poised to contend for a long time if they can shore up those issues
