If I'm the Rangers, taking escrow into consideration, I'm giving Strome 5 mil CLEAN. That means no signing bonus and whatnot. Lemieux 2 mil, also no signing bonus and whatnot.

According to CapFriendly NYR have 14.4 mil current cap space but 10.8 actual cap space. If you crunch the numbers even further, it's closer to 10.5 mil actual cap space.

What I would do is start the season day after the Super Bowl. Then people have something to watch until MLB opening day. I see no reason why teams can't have their home games at the local arena as long as they take the proper precautions.
