  1. No that's correct, the odds of a 7th rounder becoming an NHL player is almost like 18% - those are the stats. The odds of 1 of 2 hitting is additive, so around 35% is right. The chance of BOTH making it is a multiplier, so then it would be more like 4% The hit rate really flattens out from round 4 to round 7: http://images.tsn.ca/images/stories/2015/2/12/yost-draft1_53958.jpg
  2. That's the wrong chart. The odds for one out of the two making it is actually 70% (2+2) http://images.tsn.ca/images/stories/2015/2/12/yost-draft2_53987.jpg
  3. haha, that is so the equivalent of the excessive celebration penalty in the NFL
  4. What a great hockey game Watch out for drunk drivers in Nassau tonight there's gonna be a lot of wrecks!! LMAO
  5. Except that they play at 'home' in a dump with plastic PVP cooling pipes and slurpee ice where the fans won't travel to visit even for the playoffs
  6. Look at it this way, a Carolina win gets us one spot better in the draft The correct Rangers rooting interests are: Columbus defeat Boston (+1 draft order) Carolina defeat Brooklynders (+1 draft order, bonus that Piles are eliminated) Colorado defeat San Jose (+1 draft order) Dallas defeat St. Louis (First round pick instead of 2nd) Then you can go for whoever you want but if Zucc re-signs with Dallas we get a 1st rounder in 2020
  7. I thought the Jets fan base was embarrassing and the Giants fanbase was classy
  8. He is racist, before the draft people said he would never pick a black quarterback and he delivered
  9. Good point, Daniel Jones is probably Tom Brady. Man Giants are set
  10. I was behind the Haskins pick mostly because of Boomer Esiason. He's been going on about this kid for months and months even before he became a serious potential pick for the Giants. He absolutely loves him and says he's perfect for the NFL. So I'm deferring to Boomer on that one, but we'll find out playing the Redskins 2x per year
  11. His deep passes need a long build up and release to generate enough power to hit the target and they tend to hang for a long time He has ability to move to evade pocket pressure, but he doesn’t move often to create windows which led to a high rate of batted balls at scrimmage in college With that arm, when he tried to make NFL-caliber throws outside the hash-mark, he wasn't throwing at the same level as NFL elite level QBs in a tight window and at the same speed He's also got a bit of a thin frame physically and doesn't tend to protect himself, he already had a collarbone injury last season and there is legit injury concern at the NFL level
  12. The only way that's true is if the sum is greater than the parts. He doesn't have any natural elite tools. It's a huge reach to project he's even going to come close to Eli Manning. It's possible, but it's not likely.
  13. Gettleman got duped by the league. Old man "knew for a fact" two other teams wanted Jones, except Broncos confirmed they didn't, and people say Dan Snyder wanted Haskins which they got. Denver did want Lock but they could wait until the next round which they did. That's Gettleman's problem right there, he had plenty of time to wait but instead he lost an elite prospect like Josh Allen. Obviously the 'other' issue is Jones isn't anything special, somebody keep this guy away from the Senior Bowl
  14. yeah total brain fart on my end I have no idea why I had Carolina vs Columbus when it's Carolina vs Islanders - I give up!!! But so far so good Islanders losing if they get eliminated it's a 2 for 1 we see those losers go away plus Carolina can't rank ahead of NY's Winnipeg pick
  15. WCF / ECF teams cannot draft ahead of eliminated teams only two possibilities: 16 Colorado 90 17 Vegas 93 18 Dallas 93 / St. Louis 99 19 Columbus 98 / Carolina 99 20 Winnipeg 99 [bELONGS TO RANGERS] 16 Vegas 93 17 Dallas 93 / St. Louis 99 18 Columbus 98 / Carolina 99 19 Winnipeg 99 [bELONGS TO RANGERS] 20 San Jose 101
  16. I thought we learned our lesson with 7 year deals Brooks clearly hasn't, pretty sure Gorts has
  17. Gettleman is AV and Jones is Tanner Glass
  18. He was ranked as the best draft talent by a lot of outfits, so I think Jets fans will be eventually be happy with him. But even if they were disappointed on the spot, the Giants lol'd so bad it made them realize real fast that missing out on Bosa & Allen wasn't the worst thing in the world
  19. IMO Kyler goes first, Redskins trade for Rosen, then Bosa/Allen/Williams/Oliver go somewhere 2-5 and Giants pick Haskins at 6. I don't see the Jets trading their pick because they won't get enough value back
