  1. I can't stand Bisonette. He adds nothing to the commentary, not even comedy. No insight. Nothing
  2. one of my complaints about this Rangers team is that they don't do enough to protect their star players. Opponents have been running into and over Igor all year and they run at Fox. The Rangers as a team rarely muck-it-up when that happens and so Igor winds up defending himself - which is beyond weird to me. Regardless, it looks like Rempe is in the Caps heads. And that is a Ranger victory!
  3. I can't remember which documentary I saw but one featured Bob Probert and his career as an enforcer. In it someone said they asked Probert what the hardest hit he ever took was given that he was considered one of the most feared fighters/enforcers on the ice when he played. Probert said the hardest hit he ever took was when he turned into someone's shoulder pads on a play and got knocked out from the accidental contact. Point is, Rempe is so tall that even on a clean hit people are going to run into his elbow pads.
  4. Judge wears the black socks now up to his knees so everyone can see where the pitches are. He still gets bad calls but there is no excuse. Maybe Rempe needs to wear leather pads instead of that rock hard space-stuff under his uniform
  5. I'm not as jaded as many of the posts here although I've been equally critical these past few months. I think the Rangers in 4 is highly likely against Washington. The Rangers play up to and down to their opponent. Once the team figures out, or thinks, they have control of a game they lighten up and tighten up. It has cost them all season in the weirdest ways against the weakest and weaker teams. Which is what makes us all nervous. Sometimes their GPS is off. I've been watching Kreider closely and the guy has picked up his game a notch or two or five now that we are in the playoffs. Zibanejad has been playing two-way-out-of-his-mind hockey since that terrible loss to the Flyers a few weeks ago. With Krieder and Zibanejad picking up their game and Roslovic adding another intense dimension this may be the scariest team in the playoffs IF they stay focused for a full 60 minutes. The depth of this team is pretty incredible right now at every single position including goal. Imagine having your option 2 goalie being Jonathan Quick. Wow, just wow. They aren't even playing some of the depth guys they have in reserve like Jones and Ruhwedl. As for Rempe, he is the "X" factor in every game whether he rides the bench or plays minutes. He scares the crap out of opponents. No one wants to see him on the bench or on the ice. The penalties and accusations are compliments and the Rangers as a team have capitalized on them. Zdeno Chara was 6'9" tall and he was accused of being a dirty player at the beginning of his career. Then he learned how to control his size and he became a dominant presense for the rest of his 24 year career. I'll take Rempe and the penalties all day long provided he does not get suspended during the playoffs. Finally, I think Trouba is still hurt. I won't be surprised if he needs surgery after they win ... (can't say it).
  6. these calls against the Rangers all game have been weak. The Caps can't even stay on their feet after a little shove. Rempe broke the rink! LOL
  7. Rangers get too cute sometimes in their own zone trying to make perfect passes for perfect plays. Given their opponent I'd say they are being baited into it.
  8. Rangers are going to need to start scoring goals. They can't let this weak team stay in the game like this I don't care where the majority of play is the only thing that counts are goals
  9. I love Rempe. The caps aren't going to be able to skate anywhere without looking up and over their shoulders
  10. Caps announcers suck. I lived in DC for awhile and turned them off all the time
  11. Oshie took a few head shots and he high sticked Panarin earlier without any reviews Bye bye Oshie.
  12. I know others don't agree but PK Subban is totally right. The Rangers need to put Washington to sleep quickly and get ready for the next series. Carolina is stout and they do not quit as proven by their win last night. The Rangers need to play full-throttle now all the way through game 4.
  13. Time for the Rangers to practice their dirty play with the Caps. Rempe needs to challenge Wilson and get him off the ice.
  14. The refs have money on this game or their families do... no other explanation for the poor calls all period long. Rangers just need to ignore the refs and make them background noise.
  15. Be careful here. What the Canes showed was that the game is a full 60 minutes long and plays are whistle to whistle. The Rangers have only 1 game down so far, plenty of more to go before we write off the Caps and Ovechkin.
  16. Dude! You nailed it with this post... Rempe scores 1st goal of playoffs, his 1st playoff goal AND he created the play from start to finish. Plus, his presense scared the shit out of the Caps every time he was on the ice. Great post!!!
  17. Lines 1,2 and 4 were responsible for the goals today. That's depth. For a moment I thought the 4th line was going to totally embarass the other lines, then Panarin scored a beauty. Rempe's goal was a pure lunch-bucket goal. He created the entire play and put himself into position to score. Rempe's presense on the ice and on the bench puts Washington on its heals - you could see the Caps going backwards and sideways every time Rempe got near them. I'd like to see Rempe out there with Wilson every so often. The Rangers can afford to lose Rempe for a game but the Caps can't afford to lose Wilson. The Rangers need to find a way to stop Wilson from running at Zibanejad. That said, I think Zibanejad has been playing at an otherworldly level for the past few games. He doesn't get enough credit for his incredible defensive play that turns into incredible offensive chances; he's really picked up his aggressiveness when he's on the ice in both directions. To me it's been noticeable and impressive.
  18. After all of the critiques, comments, thoughts I have to say that game 82 was a great game. I thought the entire team played hard and well - even when mistakes were made they covered them well. I loved the shirts off your back coverage and am glad ESPN stayed with the coverage. On to the playoffs - let's beat the curse.
