Could not disagree more. They have plenty. Just not tonight. It’s one game. We were two wins away from a cup final last year and a top team this year. It’ll all be fine.
Ok, but they wouldn't have beaten Colorado. Because Colorado has/had the aformentioned winning qualities

Did those teams have it 82 games a year? Probably not. Every team has stinkers.
True, but take a long hard look; do you see this as team that can pull it off? Start with the dunce behind the bench; who can't put/keep a line together to save his life....

Just step away from the ledge. We are still a good team. It’s one game my man
Lol! Yes, one game, but this is the Rangers for petes sake! Look at other the championship teams, especially stanley cup winning teams, and look at what they have in common; mettle, swagger.... These clowns don't have it by a long shot

Hopefully this will be the beginning of a massive collapse that sees these booty-clowns fall out playoff contention. These maroons aren't winning anything. As i said ad nauseam, 93/94 will be the only cup i see in my lifetime. Shruggs shoulders moves along with less important things

Rangers and Shitcurtain= typical

Pretty piss poor effort defensively and Shesty's looking very average by his standards...but the Oilers are pretty shit in both of those areas too, so a strong 2nd period can definitely tie this shit up.
Cant wait for the playoffs
Never thought he was that good myself. Mostly because, one good season doesnt make a career.

92-93 went down the shitter when Leetch broke his ankle. 91-92 was another year they were loaded and couldn't get it done.

As a 49 year old, lifelong Rangers fan, I just wanted to take a moment to say how much I LOVE watching this team.
Thinking about Valentine's Day today, and realized my heart is truly with this team, right now. These ARE the Good Old Days. The time before we inevitably lose one of our young core to free agency or a trade (that's gonna be a very sad day for me).
I'm not sure in my lifetime, I've seen a Rangers team quite as talented overall from top to bottom. Nothing can ever replace '94, that team forever holds a special place at the top, but this feels a bit different.
This build feels very home-grown, but with a NY flare to it (I.E. big free agent signing in Panarin...big trade for Tarasenko, and before that, Trouba).
When has a Rangers team ever had this much top young talent making such key contributions? Chytil...Shesterkin...K'Andre...Laf....Kakko....Schneider...
Even guys like Zib and Fox, although not drafted by the Rangers, but acquired when they were still very young. Being able to watch them grow into absolute superstars is special and should not be taken for granted.
So while there are certainly things to complain about, as Valentine's Day approaches, I urge you to take a minute to truly appreciate what we have here: Nothing short of one of the best, most talented teams in the NHL.
Happy Valentine's Day, fellow NYR fans!
Well, there were the 92/93 Rangers... Had some young talent: Zubov, Leetch, Turcotte, Amonte, to name a few and no playoffs that season, let alone a Stanley Cup.
I for one am convinced of nothing, and have come to the realization 93/94 is the one and only SC ill see in this life time

No point for OT loss. It seems simpler than that. 2 points for reg win, 1 point for OT win. 3 on 3 for ten minutes, then shootout. Shootout would be null and void at that point.
Great idea!

The NHL has screwed the pooch on OT for 2+ decades now.
Yes. I’ll totally concede that 3 on 3 OT and shootouts are exciting. But the whole structure of it is poor
I hate the phantom 3rd point. Hate it.
The game is worth 2 points through 60 minutes. Then it’s somehow worth 3?
And then you decide a game under rules that don’t exist when you’re playing your most important games, namely in the playoffs.
Just don’t like it. And it makes so little sense.
Either make a regulation win worth 3 points.
Or if you must stick with the losers point, don’t award it till you go to a shootout, extend OT to 10 minutes, and at least play OT at 4v4.
The loser’s point is terrible.
Food for thought: The year the Kings won their first Cup. They qualified as a 8 seed in the final week of the season.
Their record that season was 40-27-15
They were on the losing side of the ledger in more than half of their games.
Or Florida last year.
They won 58 games. Which is astounding.
But… 16 of those 58 wins (that’s 27%) came in OT or shootout.
Too many arbitrary points handed out
Well said!
Although, I hope your not implying these buffoons can win the Stanley Cup. Because They don't have it; "it" being the mettle to win even a 1st round..

An OT win is sugary snack that only feels good for a few moments. It is a regulation tie decided by arbitrary methods that have no bearing on the qualities that win games in regulation or in the playoffs.
They need a rule cracking down on skating the puck back out of the offensive zone in OT (face off at center ice). It's getting ridiculous.
I used to loathe ties, and never thought I'd hear/sea myself say different. But I loathe this OT/SO trash and especially the losers point even more.

This. I expect a low scoring, boring shit show. They'll do just enough to get the win.
Rangers 2-1.
I think you mean, do just enough to get the OT, SO loss

Gary Bettman's stock has gone up-in my book-astronomically. As much as the yellow journalists tried to make Provorov and anyone else who thought the same way a bigot, he didn't bite and actually threw diversity back in their faces. Bravo Gary, bravo!
Just say'en

I kinda get the feeling there was some grumbling in the locker room and Dolan caught wind....

Great game tonight but come on. The Rangers have been terrible for a month or longer now. It's going to take a string of games like this to have any confidence they are turning a corner.
We all know they are now ripe for getting shut out against the AVs now.
Truth! Until that Silver cup/trophy is lifted high over a-Ranger-captains head, i will continue to doubt this team. A two game win streak proves nada
