Chytil could die on the ice, and that wouldn't be the best for the vibe

He's skating now without difficulty.  However he went down with concussions at least 3 times this season (assuming the workout collapse was that).

If you have to use him and he wants to go it's probably ok to use him.  If you don't have to use him then next fall is a great time for his next appearance.

  2. Panarin has been fine.  What he's doing will help the Rangers win.

The guys on that line are still the best thing the Rangers have going for them aside from Igor.  It would be nice to see them breakout and go all hyperloop on the ice but they're already 2-3-4 in playoff scoring and Laf is getting next to no PP time in that.

Yes, because he didn't have Wennberg and Roslovic to push guys down the lineup. Now, he shouldn't have to. Brodzinski was a 3rd liner for half the year, but now he can't be a regular 4th liner for a few games on the road? I don't buy that.

Yes the Canes played 9 forwards last night. I'm not talking about the Canes and I'm not talking about last night. Rempe playing 4 minutes a games is a big enough issue in a 60 minute game, it's even worse when he sits in a 2OT game after period 2.

Brozinski was a 3rd liner in the same way Wheeler was a 1st liner and Bonino was a 3rd liner for awhile.

Not saying that Brodz doesn't put his best effort out there every shift because he does but he's a very good AHL player and there is no way he doesn't get exposed by the 'Canes at some point.

A series changing injury? As in Chytil gets hurt and that's a rallying point for the Canes to win the series?

I get the hesitation but if Chytil is flying and passing everything in practices, he's a major upgrade in the lineup and he's already shown he can be effective in the playoffs in the past.

Series-changing injury as in Chytil goes down and the rampaging animal spirits the Rangers currently enjoy gets replaced by rabbits.

Edit: you know this vet group is very streaky and I wouldn't change thing one until it's obvious a change is required.

My best guess is that Laviolette as a 20 year coach on an amazing run will see it that way also.

I wouldn’t take Rempe out for Brodz. Only to get Chytil in if he’s ready

I'm not putting Chytil into a game unless I have no choice.

Risk of a series-changing injury is too high.

If it's not broke don't fix it.

In a 2OT game Rempe played a season low (except for games he was kicked out of), and didn't see the ice for 2 and 1/2 periods after the second period.

Yes, I would agree that who the coach is playing is an indicator of what's working and what's not.

Laviolette was putting his main guys on extra shifts late before Rempe got here.   It's his MO to try to squeeze his best players for a bit more.

He's going to do that if Brodz is the 12th skater also.

The Canes skated 9 forwards in OT.

This is true, but the record with and without him is starting to feel like more than just a coincidence at this point.

The Rangers of past years really didn't match up physically in the playoffs.  You had Trouba hitting people and Lindgren getting hit and that was about it.

Rempe, even on the bench gives the Rangers an edge on the ice because almost everybody else is more physical when he's in the rotation, even a little bit.

Someone tell me we have a shot of winning tonight. We win a game, I get my hopes up, I'm in a good mood for exactly 24 hours, and then by the next game day the well-earned eternal pessimism sets in.

Yet again, the Athletic's model is predicting a Carolina win. Yet again, we are underdogs according to the odds. Even after Game 1, everyone at the Athletic said "yeah we expected this, doesn't change anything. Canes in 6 or 7."

Lots of shots does not beat the Rangers.  Good opportunities with the Ranger's defense otherwise occupied is what beats the Rangers.

I think this is a 4 or 5 game series at this point and all Rangers.

Yeah, it was not as dramatic as the whole Lindros trade saga in 1991, and at the time I fully expected the Avs to match.  Neil sure wasn't hesitant to swing for the fences.  It is not widely known that Francis offered Bill Torrey about half the team for the pick that was to be Potvin in 1973 and was turned down.  Anyway, Neil made many bad moves after 1994, starting with installing Campbell as coach, but this was not one of them.

Freaking Canadians just kept getting those #1 overalls.  Getting Potvin would have changed the course of the 70's and 80's for the Rangers.

The Rangers front office needs to be doing double overtime lobbying the league to look more closely at these calls on Rempe.  We can not count on the PK being perfect in five attempts every night and frankly they missed at least a couple going the other way.  Maybe they felt that 2 PP goals was enough for us. With that said there is no reason for the Rangers to just quietly accept this Rempe tax.

The problem is that they probably wants "legal hitting to hurt"  to be either reduced or removed altogether and if they have to essentially ban six foot seven players in order to do that then so be it.

The only way to get rid of legal hitting to hurt is to ban hitting altogether.  Not going to happen.

It's a strange situation because I'm starting to doubt that the NHL will want to sit down with Rempe for another suspension hearing at any point.  He and his reps are most likely to raise the double standard he is facing when that happens and then shit goes totally sideways for the NHL in the media.
