  1. We will not be favored against the Panthers if we get to the next round or Dallas after that. Relish the disrespect or put some money down and relish it even more
  2. Hurrican't is predictive and Hurricunts is descriptive and right on the money. Your tee times are waiting and Rod has some interviews lined up so let's get this thing wrapped up tonight.
  3. Let's try not to spot them a head start by not being ready tonight. Yeah, they are still desperate and no, we are not so much better than they are that we can let them start the game earlier than we do. Give them no oxygen from puck drop and then bathe in the warmth of the home crowd once they are dead
  4. There's no way that STDs from celebratory sex with N.C. Hookers would have kicked in this quickly for Chytil, is there?
  5. Up 2-0 and cruising last year against the Devils tells me all I need to know about feeling comfortable. If we are up 4-0 with ten minutes to go then maybe I will start to feel comfortable. Maybe
  6. Let's try and stay out of the box tonight. Law of averages is gonna kick in at some point. Get one or two early and then four of five more once those guys press even more than they normally do. Chase both goalies Settle in to watch all the post game shows while the people who gave us no chance in this series try to make sense of why the world is upside down.
  7. Watching the Boston Vs. Florida series and I an nervous about playing Chytil against either of those teams.
  8. Put them to bed on Saturday night and send Rod the bod off to his next employer.
  9. Brind'Amour is already caving to the 2nd-guessers. Good. Maybe he gets the Utah job. He can interview after the game on Saturday.
  10. Survive the initial push (which I expect to be fierce) then silence the crowd with a goal. The team and their fan base are all phonies. Let them whine all day long about the Rangers diving and how the refs are in cahoots with the NHL to ensure that NY wins. All the while conveniently failing to notice their team has had ten power plays through the first two games and we have had just nine. Some tilt on the playing field right there. This was the year that they were supposed reach the finals or even win it all. The sexy darlings of the analysts and the Vegas oddsmakers.... Well if they get bounced early again this year I think someone needs to ask some serious questions about why their regular season dominance seems to translate into post-season failures every year. At some point the patterns becomes undeniable. I think the new Utah franchise will be looking for a head coach to set a tone with that franchise and I expect that Rod the Bod might be at the top of their grocery list. Time to "Igor!, Igor!" them out of their own building
  11. Working the Refs and working the league offices are skills that we are paying our GM and HC to possess. I hope they are employing those talents right now because the status quo is gifting our opponents an unfair advantage.
  12. The Rangers front office needs to be doing double overtime lobbying the league to look more closely at these calls on Rempe. We can not count on the PK being perfect in five attempts every night and frankly they missed at least a couple going the other way. Maybe they felt that 2 PP goals was enough for us. With that said there is no reason for the Rangers to just quietly accept this Rempe tax. The problem is that they probably wants "legal hitting to hurt" to be either reduced or removed altogether and if they have to essentially ban six foot seven players in order to do that then so be it.
  13. If the Islanders began to solve their PK I feel confident that we can also do that
  14. Rempe is a rabbit's foot for us at this point, please let him dress.
  15. Does the NBA have first dibs on MSG scheduling or is there some other formula?
  16. See the bolded text. TBH I think there is more of an agenda going on here. Analysts as a species missed out on the improvement and potential of this NY Rangers team and they have spent the entire year hunting desperately for reasons why they were not actually wrong in the first place. As a result we have seen a year-long Kabuki theatre playing out while they twist themselves into logical pretzels in order come up with supporting arguments for just that position. i.e. "Why I was not really wrong and why the NY Rangers really suck after all" Carolina is the end of the road for all of that nonsense. If we lose, well then they must have been right all along and if we win then the world is a different place and they will be left scrambling for reasons why. After all they need to justify why they should even remain employed. Laf made a huge improvement and so did Panarin. Or maybe players like Cuylle and Schneider were able to contribute far more than expected or maybe even that Igor is back to being Igor. The only problem is that all of these things have been visible for all or almost the entire season for anyone who cares to look with an open mind.
  17. A president's trophy heavy underdog coming off a first round sweep is kinda strange TBH
  18. It is funny how when Las Vegas plays a first round series against Dallas, the analysts cannot seem to form a complete sentence without mentioning what a shame it is that two Stanley cup contenders are playing each other so early but when #1 overall plays #3 overall, not a peep.
  19. A series where expectations come to die? These two teams have been circling each other like heavyweight fighters all season long. One team, Carolina, together with the Florida Panthers, anointed by the pundits in preseason to be the Eastern conference champion and finishing with the 3rd best regular season record in the entire NHL. The other team, our NY Rangers. a team with a new coach and one that was not really supposed to be there after failing last year in the playoffs against New Jersey. The problem for these pundits is is that we are here and that we have been a nonexistent and embarrassing blip on their radar all year long. Carolina after a sluggish start was supposed to find their form and "reel-in" the over-performing Metropolitan front runner (us) after we inevitably ran out of gas over the full 82 game season. This narrative was reinforced in the pundit echo chamber after the trade deadline where Carolina made some significant and impressive additions. The only problem with that idea is that the Rangers do not seem to have gotten the script. Yes, they kept on winning but then so did we. We won so much that we captured the 2024 Presidents trophy. No matter the pundits tell us. Carolina is the more complete team. Far better 5 on 5 than the Rangers and with comparable or better special teams on both sides. All we did was squeak by our first round matchup with a 4-0 sweep of the Capitals. And now, the two teams who have been stalking each other all season long but really, these teams have been getting ready for this since that playoff game-7 Rangers victory two seasons ago.... Well now they finally get to lace them up against each other. At fucking last. Enough with "anointed" teams. We are a good team. We are healthy, rested and better coached this time around. We are more physical top to bottom, It is high time that all of those experts to finally face the face that the Rangers have been in their collective blind spot all year long. Get ready to eat crow motherfuckers
