  1. Has any team fired more coaches in the last twenty years? Brutal. The cycle continues.

  4. Nah. Not on a fourth line. Especially how the Rangers' fourth line is built. He'd be playing with Goodrow and Vesey and being asked to play physical. For a guy who feels a breath away from forced retirement. Not a great idea at all.
  5. No, not really. If he's the tone-changer, yes. If he's the tone-setter, not really. It depends on the opponent. If they're playing the Isles, I want him there. The Pens, no.
  6. He's either the tone-setter in a hard-hitting series or, more likely, the tone-changer if they fall behind in a series. I tend to think the latter is far more realistic an option.
  7. And nothing of value was lost. He can compete with Brodzinski for a shot or wait for an injury. But odds are, he's on the outside looking in, because Goodrow is 4RW and Brod is the center on that line.
  8. Just watched the first ep last night. This looks great so far. I never played the games, so I have absolutely no expectations, but I'm digging the hell out of the whole vibe. It's like Blast From the Past meets horror lol.
  9. I'm breaking this out into a new conversation because it seems to have grown significant legs based on the Seravalli report.
  10. OK, but that issue is more rooted in personal preference than it is in performance, because he scores a boat load of goals and is paid commiserate with what he produces. If he didn't score, this would matter a helluva lot more.
  11. This is a well thought out, well-written critique that does a great job of illustrating your issue with this player. And my response is this: I still don't care, cause he's about to score 40. Again. They have bigger fish to fry than the 30–50-goal scorer being paid perfectly who leaves you wanting more shift-to-shift.
  12. Yup. Then proceed to bitch for the next however many years why the Rangers have no net front presence and how badly the team misses his ability to score "easy" PP goals.
  13. OK, but we can only work with what we know, and what we know is he's basically guaranteed goals + on-the-money contract. So, what's the problem, really? Phil Kessel was awful defensively, too. He's also probably a HOFer.
  14. Sure, but if it works, it works. Andreychuk and Smyth.
  15. Well, maybe. In a world where Zib isn't on this team but Panarin still is, I think you can still mostly replicate the same results (on the PP). But at 5v5, you're getting even less, 100%.
