  1. Yegor Sharangovich is someone who hasn't been mentioned that I'd look at. Calgary isn't pressed to make a decision about him the way Nashville is with Novak, but they're staring down a potential rebuild and really should be considering most anyone. Sharnagovich is 25 and plays all three forward positions. He has one more year at $3.1M. He's been playing first line RW for Calgary over the last few weeks and has been one of their more consistent players during that stretch (12 P in 14 GP). He's also been playing on the first powerplay unit and the second PK unit. He has 5 SHP on the season because he's part of a really dangerous PK unit with Coleman. He's the type of skilled Swiss Army knife the Rangers could use right now. There's also a little bit of a Buch vibe to him. If not Sharangovich then go for someone like Novak.
  2. I met him outside the Garden sometime early in his rookie season. He’s definitely closer to 5’11” - 6’0.” I’m 5’9” and he’s barely taller than me.
  3. Can the colors be switched to the team colors?

But when we try to make plays at the blue line or try to force plays in at the top of the circles, especially with world-class players on the other team, it's not the best formula." — Blake Wheeler GIF to LOL:
  7. You're watching the wrong era of hockey if you're expecting anyone to be a deterrent as has been mentioned. What kind of response were you looking for? The team immediately reacted and Panarin ended up in the box because he jumped Pastrnak. Down 1-0 in a tight game after a recent spell of bad performances and they're supposed to what? Start gooning it up? The team responded in the moment, Pasta was kicked out of the game, and then they focused on beating Boston where it really mattered, the scoreboard. They wouldn't jeopardize any ability to come back in a game to get revenge.
  8. Marcel Hossa throws hands now. It’s his time to shine.
  9. Nash has two career fights. There is nothing old school about him. Edstrom is tougher.
  10. Makes sense why he turned down Tortorella's pleas to become a power forward. He's too brittle to be one.
  11. I feel like it's about time to shake the lines up a little bit. Might as well try something new because what they have has gone stale with their lack of depth. There's only so much this team can do with both Wheeler and Bonino in the top 9 so change that. Panarin - Trocheck - Vesey Cuylle - Zibanejad - Lafreniere Kreider - Brodzinski - Wheeler Goodrow - Bonino - Pitlick
  12. You really don't. Robertson is the emptiest 6'4" and if you think Jones seems overwhelmed then Robertson is a full-blown panic attack.
  13. He's at 5.08 shots per 60 which is about the same rate as Kakko. Vatrano is at 11.6 per 60. If you want a volume shooter there then pursue an actual volume shooter there. Duclair historically isn't that at all. He's a good fit there because he's fast and he goes to the net. He's not really comparable to Vatrano, though. Vatrano's volume rivals those of Jack Hughes, Jack Eichel, and Kyle Connor.
  14. Duke isn't a shoot-first winger by any means. He hasn't even averaged two shots per game over his career. What he brings is speed.
  15. Why would the Rangers need a third team to eat Vatrano's salary when Anaheim can do that already?

  17. Pack lost 4-3 in OT. Matt Robertson made an absolutely brutal play to let an opposing player walk in on goal. He's gonna be in another organization by the end of the year.
  18. Pinto didn't sign a deal before the Dec 1 deadline so he's ineligible for play this season anyway.
  19. Brooks might be wrong from time to time, but what separates him from average Joes is that he actually has connections. He has access to the locker room, the organization, to a number of industry professionals that you don't have access to if you're not already within that sphere. I can rattle off a number of things Brooks has been wrong on, but I could also list a lot of things he's been bang on about. The nature of his relationship with the organization as an accredited member of the media is the difference between him and any guy on Twitter who ends up writing for the Hockey Writers. Writing for the Hockey Writers doesn't mean you don't know anything, unless you're @Phil, but it does mean you're more than likely operating with the same information that the greater public is. No one within the industry has connected Laine to the Rangers of late, the Rangers do not have a cap situation that permits them to easily trade for Laine, and Barclay Goodrow has a 15-team No Trade Clause which would almost certainly see him waiving any trade to Columbus. Columbus would ask for far more than Goodrow. There's nothing wrong with thinking that Laine is someone who the Rangers should pursue, however, it's not a realistic scenario that is supported by any information out there.
