  1. You know who's a bum? That gutless Russian Artemi Panarin! Guy might be scoring goals now but in 4 years? Bet he won't be throwing checks then!

Should've signed Art Panarini. Good ole Canadian Boy from Moose Jaw who PLAYS THE GAME THE RIGHT WAY!

  2. And by the way panarin s personal performance is only one facet of determining whether it?s was worth it. His contract will have effects on this roster for years to come. Team success will ultimately be the determining factor.

If Panerin leads the league in scoring for a majority of this contract, is it not worth it? His personal performance is 100% a factor here. Big contracts are manageable when players live up to them, and that?s true here. Someone was going to get that contract on this team if it was successful, it just happened to be him. Panarin being a winger is immaterial if he has the ability to be more than just a goal scorer, which he has clearly shown. Playmaking wingers get paid too, which is why a guy like Marner got his contract.

  3. no, I watched a lot.

Did a lot of research over the summer after rangers got the #2 pick in hopes to add another Finn

Again, more the fit than then player. He's not a top line guy, but maybe a 2nd liner around 25-25. And earlier today I mentioned a Kreider replacement is the off-season issue. Again, right now, wrong fit... Unless something changes

We will have to agree to disagree. I don?t think there?s nearly enough data to make that conclusion.

  4. Puljujarvi needs to be with skilled players. His biggest complaint in Edmonton was not being put in the top 6.

That's the same issue he will face in NY.

    1. We don?t know that.

    2. They probably wouldn?t even bring him over right away, which is fine.

    3. You keep referencing his NHL play when it?s been established that that isn?t really fair given the circumstances.

I don?t know how many Edmonton games you?ve watched over the time he?s been there, but my guess is it?s under 20. I don?t really understand how you can have such a concrete idea of who he is or his failures as a player.

  5. from ... Watching him.

    He's doing great this season.

I just don?t get how you can have that take when you look at the circumstances of the teams he was playing with and the injury issues he was going through.

I?m not saying I watched a ton of Edmonton games by any means, but this is not something that has been reported that I?ve seen anywhere, and again... hard to judge when you factor in everything else surrounding him and that team generally speaking.

  6. no. Why. This organization isn?t good in development.

His issue has been adjust to strict nhl coaching styles. This is the wrong environment

This organization from a development standpoint is very different than it was, but that aside: he?s a guy who needed to get healthy more than anything. He needed surgery on both hips, and the team told him nah, you just suck. I would absolutely take a shot at adding that kind of talent. I don?t know where or why you come to the conclusion that he has an issue with NHL coaching styles, but I would strongly disagree with this being a major concern.

  7. Not saying that? Asking a question. How many games is the threshold? If the season is a loss it?s something to think about. I?m not saying burry him down there. It depends on the threshold

This is cutting off your nose to spite your face. His game and it?s growth shouldn?t be stifled because we might have to turn a 3rd into a second. Ideally you?re trading Kreider and getting those assets back anyway.

  8. If you are going to argue that Fox shouldn?t be playing right now it better be a damned good case. This draft is top end heavy. Having a 3rd turn into a second won?t affect anything in terms of getting an impact player right now.

Fox is clearly an NHL player. I don?t know that there?s anything else to discuss beyond that.

  9. That?s fine too. My only problem is that kakko himself is sounding beyond frustrated about everything. His play, his role, his success/failure. So while it?s great for us to say give him time to figure it out, kakko himself isn?t patient with it. End of the day he needs to play and find success to develop. As of now success he?s finding none in the nhl. That is not really surprising. He?s 18. The nhl is hard. Waiting to send him to Hartford is only going to make it worse on him if it?s further into the season. My take send him now, let him play in The Wjc, then if all goes right bring him back in January. At that point he should be in a better place with his game and confidence.

Also is it true the fox trade has a condition on his games played this year? Making the third a second? If so why in fuck is he here? He?s certainly not good enough to warrant giving up a very early second round pick in a loaded draft. I mean that?s the return we likely get for kreider. Why not limit his games played to not meet that condition?

Because he?s good enough to be here, we have the spot, and he?s not going to get anything from playing in Hartford? He?s earned a spot here, not giving it to him would be detrimental in so many ways. This is a short sighted thought process.

  10. Then what is he? There's a reason why he was scratched and benched. I get it, it's because he was really really good. Right? How else can it be put? It's a really bad look for the kid to struggle and then leave. It doesn't bode well for any confidence in his mental ability to work through problems. If he's home sick. Fine. But he played himself into the pressbox for the AHL team... If he was going home no matter what that's one thing. Why keep him here at all? Should have sent him back home and signed a free agent or given his spot to another player from camp.

You are taking 3 games and extrapolating an entire career of a 19 year old, one you know virtually nothing about.

He used an option that was a freely negotiated part of his contract, something the Rangers didn?t fight, and literally isn?t an issue. This is sensationalism and a really great example of fans sometimes just having to understand that you have to be patient.

  11. Maybe in your opinion, sure. But calling my opinion as a whole stubborn is shortsighted when I know of people who have done with this forum what I?m currently doing, and for the same reasons.

Antivaxxers also think a kid who has autism has it because they had the vaccine, and their proof is... they had the vaccine. If you don?t understand why your explanation anecdotal at best, I?m sorry.

  12. Why? Because I made the choice to not post here anymore because I think some of the people ?in power? here are dickheads? Mmkay.

I don?t see why or how this is effecting you.

You?re being stubborn with your characterization of this forum and forums generally, which is clearly what we were talking about lol.

  13. Richter's rights were traded to, Vancouver or Edmonton iirc, prior to one of the early 90's expansion drafts. He then signed with the Rangers as a free agent. He never actually played for another team.

He was drafted by Nashville in the expansion draft but I believe something to do with RFA rights prevented that from happening. This happened twice in some capacity or another.

  14. Fair enough.

But other forums seem to filter through new users a lot more frequently than this one does anymore. Could be related to a bunch of things; could also have to do with what I?m getting at as far as not wanting to deal with the BS that goes with being a frequent poster here.

Yep, hockey?s definitely not niche at all, and social media is definitely not an easier/more casual open platform available.

I?m sorry Richie but you?re being stubborn.

  15. No

Kravstov is losing nothing by going back to Russia.

He goes back to a place he?s comfortable with at 19 years old, and will get his confidence/stride back, while still playing against adult competition, and he will be back here for the AHL playoffs, all while burning a year of his ELC. There?s no reason to chicken little a 19 year old kid doing what the rangers happily negotiated into his contract.

  16. I?m also judging it on other people who are doing or who have done exactly what I now do, but ok. Whatever you say.

I?m judging this on someone who?s on a lot of big forums for a variety of different reasons, and I can tell you forums are becoming less and less used, not more. Social media is taking up a lot of that space and it?s not hard to understand why.
