  1. I was there, too. We cheered for every save. It was surreal. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  2. Yeah. Of all the bloggers/podcasters out there, Ryan Mead is the most creative and entertaining, imo. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  3. I'm happy for Kravtsov that Kakko is there to absorb the brightest lights and hype (Church of Kakko, anyone? Say what?). He might have been the shiniest object in prospect camp/training camp had the lottery gone differently. Now he can begin his new job in relative peace.
  4. Oh baby. NIce shot! It was off Shesterkin, but gimme more.
  5. That all makes huge sense. Thanks. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  6. I only included it because it's the buzz - but so was Shattenkirk/Mcdonagh at this stage and that never materialized. What's your thinking? Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  7. I'd agree with most of this post if you substituted "competing ferociously and exceeding expectations" for "trying to contend"in the last sentence. When we're ready to contend, we're all going to know it based on how the team has coalesced and performed; not how a bunch of kids, including key members who have never played a single NHL game, look like they are supposed to perform on paper. The way it worked out at the end of the season - with Quinn saying fuck the tank we're going to try and win to the end, and then getting the 2nd pick despite having won the final game in OT to lose the 27th slot - was almost poetic. Both things have to go forward. Laserlike focus on building the winning Rangers culture and fully maximizing the development process (including revitalizing Hartford) will bring contention to MSG at the soonest possible moment.
  8. May not be overly important. Just caught my eye. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  9. Goals for 2019-20: Get Chytil to 35 points (from 23). Get Howden to 30 points (also from 23) and better manage his endurance. See if Skjei and Trouba can develop as 1st pair. If not, then who? Smooth transition for Fox and Kravtsov into the NHL. Determine if they need time in Hartford first. Find Lias time at C. If not better than 9 min/g, see if he takes a step up in Hartford. Continue his progress. Figure out how much rope Kakko gets, how much coaching he needs. Who is best with him. Keep Hajek on the plane that he started on before his injury. See if DeAngelo can take/has taken the steps in maturity necessary to cut it here and blossom Continue to assess Lindgren, et al. Anyway, the point here is that to focus on winning now is going to take attention away from the development of these kids and the team as a whole. TBH, I think we won more games than we should have last year, largely because of Quinn's ability to create a competitive culture. That should continue to grow. We'll do better than last year. If it's a lot better than last year, hot damn. But the team goals for this year should be around developing the kids and forging the architecture of the team.
  10. I just deleted it because I hadn't nearly finished it before it accidentally posted (damn phone). But yes, goals for Kakko, too.
  11. 11 RW and only 3 LW, 2 of whom are free agent invites (stunt doubles?) and one we drafted yesterday. Maybe a little out of balance.
  12. Seems like classic low risk high upside late round pick. They may be starting to get good at this stuff.
  13. I'm pretty pleased with Robertson for a 49th pick. As Josh said, he was a legit late 1st rounder for a bunch of the final ratings including McKenzie (25), Button (31), ISS (19), Future Considerations (19), McKeen's (29), and Hockey News (31). So we would all have been disappointed if we still had the 20th pick and had taken him with it, but it wouldn't have been impossible that he was a pick at that level. I can definitely see him playing well along side Fox, Lundquist, DeAngelo, or even Zach Jones. Strong on D is boring, but I could use a lot more boring after last season. Yet not an offensive zero. Does sound like Skjei, only with maybe better D chops.
  14. Holy shit. Devils get Subban. We got ourselves an arms race here.
  15. It was a very weird arc. He was steady a riser, getting to the early teens or better in many ratings - he ended up at #7 for NHL Central Scouting for NA after being at #11 in mid-season. Then he started to slip over the last couple weeks, turning into an outright plummet last night. Almost mirrors Nolan Foote in reverse.
  16. Would put Hoglander in there, too. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  17. It would be worth doing if you could get a bargain like Lavoie or Kaliyev, but I suspect that people will wake up and they'll go right off the bat this morning. Sent from my [device_name] using http://Blueshirts Brotherhood mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  18. Isles pull from the consensus mid-30s. Like it.
  19. There's your guy, Josh. Poulin ought to be pleased going 21. That was the high end of the ratings for him.
  20. This is a moment for celebration. No pick, but a good player just the same.
  21. Good night for CO. A 1D (when you already have one) and at lowest a 2C.
  22. Pretty weird that it's supposed to be such a thin D draft behind Byram and the Ds keep going first.
