  1. watch this video of all of his goals from last regular season one thing you have to notice, is that almost all of his goals are important goals. He doesn't rack up goals when the game is out of reach. By my count, of his 28 goals, 22 of them were goals I'd say were important (OT Winners, Game Tying Goals, Taking the Lead, Cutting a deficit from 2 to 1). I didn't count goals that put Columbus up by 3 but you can say those are important too
  2. I mean it's his right in the CBA to send that offer. I don't think the whole 'gentlemans agreement' over offsheets is really a thing. GMs are hesitant to give up the type of picks you would typically give up they have 12 picks in next year's draft, and were it not an offersheet, but a trade, that;s a trade every GM in the league makes any day of the week.
  3. yeah I 100% agree. I'm sure they will find a way. And who knows, maybe this was Aho's way of locking Carolina into a contract that he wanted from them all along.
  4. the only reason it might be tough is because even though the AAV is fine, it is an entirely signing bonus laced deal. For keeping it in the range of only giving up a 1st 2nd and a 3rd, I think they shaped the contract pretty perfectly. Carolina is a team that has an internal budget and if those signing bonuses are going to be a strain for them, it's going to be tough to match Worst case scenario for MTL, it gets matched. Best case, they give up what is relatively peanuts for a top tier young player with years of his prime still to come
  5. I think it's implied that it has been signed The signing bonus structure makes it tough for Carolina but they really HAVE to sign this. They can't afford to lose Aho for that price
  6. Breakdown of Aho offer sheet: $11.3M SB plus 700k salary in Year 1; $9.87M SB plus 700k salary in Year 2; $6.95 SB plus 750k salary in Year 3; $5.25 SB plus $750k in each of Year 4 and Year 5 the frontloading in signing bonuses of this is going to be hard for Carolina but they really have to match this a 1st 2nd and 3rd for Aho would be a steal
  7. Montreal offer sheet for Aho five years, with an average annual value of $8.454 million. 8.5 mil is the cut off of that barrier, so it's just a 1st a 2nd and a 3rd Carolina has to match that
  8. 1.9 from Belesky but yeah the point remains the same. We 100% have to shed some salary
  9. lol ok good. I was frantically looking throughout twitter and now. I have read he's possibly available. this would be great. I think we will see a move with Colorado. They still have boatloads of cap space
  10. as much as I'd like to be able to keep Kreider, given the cap situation now I don't think it's possible
  11. Mybe he's right though! Dreger saying we'll get him edit: not in the tweet but on SN, Dreger also said he "will leave a fir bit of money on the table"
  12. not saying he'll be wrong but I haven't seen his name in forever. What I remember of it is that he kept getting everything wrong and was essentially guessing
  13. A lot of tsn confirmation on signings pre noon. This is less exciting watching this.
  14. i guess i was wrong about TSN starting at 11 pm me now for a live link
  15. wow that's surprising. So they still need to clear a good chunk of change to sign Marner. Unless they are convinced he's going to take an offer sheet somewhere and now they won't match
  16. 12PM for free agency itself to start but the TSN show usually starts at 11 IIRC
  17. what time does the tsn free agent frenzy start? And i'll have a stream to PM people if need be edit: nvm it's at 11 PM me for a stream when the time comes
  18. This article (not sure if a reliable source) cites the Athletic (a more reliable source) in saying that after meeting with the Rangers, Panarin has started turning down other meetings http://www.foreverblueshirts.com/panarin-and-his-agent-are-turning-down-meetings-after-visit-to-new-york/?fbclid=IwAR1vmWedOzMz3pzSnDWYwNmgaz5Elyg_QPDceTekfmvGiN_xg10-prysdH0
