  1. I’d be very nervous about that deal if I’m buffalo. They need to become a playoff team fast if they want to get the best out of him. If I’m two years they still haven’t made it do you think he’s gonna want to continue playing at the level he has shown for a team that isn’t progressing?
  2. That’s a biiiiiiiiig ticket. I feel like they had to give it to him to even be competitive. Crazy how that team had such a good wi. Streak and then ranked so hard. I think if they can figure out some consistency they’ll be better and at least this is a signal that they’re gonna try and be better. But jeez. That’s a very big ticket for a guy who hasn’t consistently done it in his career and has never played in the playoffs
  3. Leafs need cap relief and Dmen that are cost controlled. I could see a team giving a good young defenseman for zaitsev and a good pick (2020 first). To get rid of his long term deal the leafs have to kind of allow themselves to be fleeced
  4. he doesn't want to impress so much he is forced to play there lol
  5. I've always felt that the whole 'paying big money to a goalie debate' was a bit misguided. I think you pay the big money to the guy who is your 'x factor' Guys like Crosby, McDavid, Kane and a host of others are their teams 'x factor.' They give their team a chance to win every single night. For us, for a long time, Henrik was our x factor. He gave us a chance to win every night, so you had to pay him that money. Going back to the 'Keep Talbot trade Hank' debate from a while back, I really don't think the cap space saved between Talbot (I'm talking the Talbot that was good when we had him, not Edmonton Talbot) and the maybe one other player we'd be able to get with that space would have made us a better team. Where it really helps is if we have a cost-controlled goalie on an ELC (ie. Murray in Pittsburgh). Shestyerkin (I still don't know how we should be spelling it lol) on an ELC playing at an elite level changes that debate though. We'll have to really wait and see what he is.

  7. yeah that season could've been longer. Without books to base it off of though it seemed like they were out of ideas? I hate how, when they did the after-episode wrap up after the battle of winterfell, they said that we basically saw the end of the Dothraki. But now all of a sudden there's still a bunch. Like I get a few made it out but cmon. Bran on the throne is just stupid. Arya just being like 'yeah, im out, im gonna go explore and shit' is such an easy copout. like, shouldn't she stay in winterfell with Sansa and rule the north together? and how did Tyrion find Jamie and Cersei so easily? In the last episode the entire thing is coming down on them. In that scene there's like a few rocks over them. The dragon skulls were fine, couldn't they have just moved over a little bit and hid in there? That would've been a much better twist
  8. Isn't Claesson an upcoming UFA? I like him as a 6th-7th depth guy but I wonder if he's worth taking a spot from any of our young players. I'd wonder if instead of re-signing Claesson we bring in a Kampfer type of player who is more of a up and down between the AHL and NHL type of defenseman for that depth. any chance we don't give Pionk a qualifying offer and let him go to UFA?
  9. Was at least hoping the marlies would have a game but they swept their first round series so no hockey in Toronto while I’m there. Oh well Blue jays game and HHOF will have to do
  10. I agree with this. His speed will be crucial, especially when we have more young talent coming through. Having that speed around is going to be pretty clutch
  11. I don't think it's anything too crazy. He's a very highly ranked prospect. We could potentially have three first rounders come June. If we do need to trade up, he's highly ranked enough where he's probably a better bet than who we'd trade up for anyway
  12. haha well lucky for me I'm only 28 lol They played a free show in Albany on July 4th last year. I didn't wanna go but my friend really wanted to and I couldn't let him go alone. Met a girl there briefly, then we ended up matching on tinder and had a good in. I later told her my usual tinder opening line and she said she would've unmatched me if I opened with that so it worked out well. Also now that friend is dating her roommate so even better!

  14. we all suck whichever one of you has the bracket named phi_dYf9e, you are a Hurricanes upset in game 7 away from only having 1 series winner out of 8. I think we should rep the worst bracket instead of the best
  15. New Pet Peeve: When you are forced to act as mediator between two superiors at work who basically just use you as a sound board to vent their frustrations with eachother without actually having to talk to eachother.
  16. I got scared when I looked at my post showing my bracket because I thought I had changed the SJ VGK series pick. Turns out I did but posted the old version. phew!
  17. Thanks! We are flying up so we won't have a car. Oshawa looks like my best bet though. I'll let you know if I have any questions!
  18. I was hoping Missisauga would do better but they got swept in the first round so oh well Oshawa is an hour by train so maybe that'd be worth it if they get to the finals
  19. going to Toronto in May. Wondering for any of the canadians here (any of you in the Toronto area), of the teams that you might see in the OHL finals, are any of them close enough to Toronto to be worth a trip?
